  • Funky Teen Zebra Lounge, Our daughter has fallen head over heals in love with zebras and wanted to express this in her bedroom. My husband made the platforms for the beds, and together we made the zebra fur headboards. We painted the wall in a medium grey, and accented it with red and black. We bought the zebra head wally off Ebay. The leather half circle chair is so much fun, it swivels all the way around. Since the window was right in the middle of one of the beds, we were able to carry the headboard onto the other side. So, for the curtain, we knew we needed something that would be placed inside the window casing, so when her friends stay over, they won't get caught up in it. The curtain is a muted white on white zebra print that I bought at Target and remade to be put on tension rods. We added a red, deep shag carpet on the floor, and my husband bought her a new wall mount stereo (not in the pics). We did a surprise reveal for her. She didn't know about the stereo or the chair and side table....it was A LOT OF FUN doing this for her!!! Thanks to satsun for the bed inspiration!, Girls' Rooms Design

  • Zebra Chic, This is my 6yr. old daughters new room make over. We pretty much re-painted ALL her furniture, not fun! Then added pops of zebra and hot pink. We spent around $65.00 total on paint, rug, curtains, bean bag chair, craig list desk, new blanket and pillows. I made all the artwork using either scrap booking supplies or old frames I had around the house. She loves it! and thats all that matters :), Girls' Rooms Design

  • Oh Baby! Lou Lou's Got Style!, What gets my heart pounding more than a room to organize and decorate? Just about nothing. So believe me, when my hubby and I found out we'd be parents to a fourth child, I was over-the-top excited about a new room to design. I adore kids' rooms almost as much as I adore the actual kids. Little Miss Louisa was reason enough to celebrate, but her room to decorate was the icing on the cake! I wanted to avoid the ordinary pinks and purples. I wanted a room that exuded girly-ness and class. I wanted a space that was fit for a baby but would grow with a child. What evolved became the perfect place for our Little Miss Louisa.

  • Beachy Modern Living Room , I've been moving things around here quite a bit lately:) I finally found the perfect spot for our tiki-hut - it as a little bit too big for the entrance and wasn't very functional there. We have a lot of people over, so it's perfect to keep the glass water container on it all the time now. We also got new ceiling fans - it's very hot here in Hawaii, and I wanted the fans to look more tropical so I got the woven leaf look. We added more seating and changed a few more things around:), Living Rooms Design

  • MCA's Throne, The kids bathroom. We replaced the flooring and toilet. We painted the entire bathroom and added new accessories and accents. None of the accessories scene (except the soap dispenser and toothbrush holder) came as displayed. I added my own artistic touch to everything. The zebra mirror on the side wall is actually a $5 mirror I bought from lowes and glued a glass cheeseboard (found it in that print at Kirklands) to it. Came out really pretty!, Bathrooms Design

  • Royal Purple Zebra Teen Girls' Room, A 15 year old girl's dream room, painted a royal purple with 2 accents walls with grey on top, a white stripe through the middle, and the same shade of purple on the bottom. There are Christmas lights strung across the top of the entire room, as well as a chandelier sticker on the bed wall. There is a mannequin next to the closet doors, and the corner next to the entrance is complete with a full-length mirror and jewelry hanger on the opposite wall. On the largest wall next to the entrance, the wall is FILLED with One Direction posters with a (really messy) desk decorated for Christmas. These pictures were taken in December 2013, so yes there is some holiday decor around the room. She designed everything herself, picked out the color scheme and all the furniture, as well as the polka dot curtains and grey carpeting. Around the room are pictures of her and her dance team, and theater club in which she was in several plays. Enjoy and feel free to leave comments and suggesitons!!, Girls' Rooms Design

  • Adrianna's Room - $450 (Repost for Spring), My daughter has loved Clifford the Big Red Dog since she was 3 (She is now 9 1/2)! Enjoy and, please, feel free to comment!

If you are interested.... A little bit about how I decorate.

~I love to decorate BIG on a tiny budget. I pick up most of my things from Wal*Mart, Goodwill, Burlington Coat Factory, eBay, Craig's List (fav for furniture), Yard Sales, and sometimes even the road side. Why bury it in the beautiful Earth when all it needed was a little paint or a new hinge? I love design shows but I just don't have 1 or 2 or 3 thousand dollars to spruce up a room. I believe with a little bit of money and a lot of imagination you can do just about anything.

So please enjoy looking at my rooms. They may or may not appeal to you- but they speak to me. And that's what matters the most! Lotza love!~MarvelAtTheEsplanade, Girls' Rooms Design

  • It's a Jungle in Here!, The goal in designing my son's room was that it be colorful, full of texture & three-dimensional. Each scene is made up of at least three layers of media. I tried to carry the jungle theme throughout the nursery by having branches continue through the verticle blinds & appear on the next wall. The trees were made out of foam board. Then we added contact paper, jungle themed paper & various layers of greenery. The animal photos were taken at various zoos & blown up to poster size (20 x 30). We cut them out & glued them to poster board then adhered them to the wall with liquid nails. We used various shades of grasses & cattails over a green hill for the baby zebra scene. The cheetah's rock was painted with Ralph Lauren River Rock paint to add a rough texture & completed the scene with tall grass. Finally, the orangutan & giraffe have manilla rope & netting to give them an extra layer. These will be removed once our baby boy is old enough to cause any havoc! ; ) It was a huge project that my niece, nephew & I worked on during my maternity leave. One pleasant surprise in the design was the movement in the greenery when the ceiling fan is on. The gentle rustling of the leaves & grass add a nice touch that really makes the room come alive. The nursery turned out just as I had hoped & I'm thrilled every time my newborn son curiously stares around at the jungle in his room!
