This is a continuation of our renovation of a seventies split level ranch house. The front and back yard spaces were overgrown with trees and shrubs. The grass was in terrible shape. We redefined all the components to create an outdoor living space for entertaining that includes new multi-level patio areas, hard spaces and a beautiful Asian inspired pergola with outdoor sofa seating, dining table and built-in grill. The Asian inspiration continues with a series of cobalt blue fountains for the water features. The overall atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. My home's exterior was in very sad shape. I wanted to be in this neighborhood for the school district and for the rural zoning so that I could build a guest house for my mom. I built the guest house a few years ago and it works great for my 83 yr old mom but I kept putting off working on the front of my house.

My gardening style is quite relaxed. I have objects of all sorts and sizes in my garden. Some are meant for the garden and some have been repurposed. Tasteful placement of various and interesting objects is an important element in my gardens. Objects can be used as focal points or as semi-hidden surprises as you stroll around your yard.

Our backyard was nothing but dead grass. Since our house is a Queen Anne Victorian we decided to have a Victorian themed garden semi-formal with lots of Victorian art and design. Circular walk way and bench small pond and sundial Gothic arched trellises to block AC units bonnet birdhouses neo classical statues urns and garden art.
