Little girl's room painted in pink stripes with coordinating harlequin focal wall. Everything done on a shoe-string budget! And it was a very thin shoe-string.

Since the moment we found out we were expecting my brain went to work on the nursery! When we found out we were having a girl, I knew I wanted a modern chic room that was sweet and girly, but not "baby-ish". I scoured the internet (thank you, ETSY! and pulled together what I feel is a beautiful nursery for my little girl! The room is calming and sweet, not too busy, and functional without being messy.
We just love it and hope that she'll look back one day and feel the love we put into each and every detail (:

This room had a LOT of wood stained in Colonial Maple. We wanted to keep the feel of the 1930's by keeping the color stain on the wood ceiling and walls true to the original. I used an olive taupe wall paint color to help balance the orange in the wood color. Then I used varying shades of gold fabrics to distract the eye from the orange. I like designing rooms that look like they have evolved over decades and have old souls.

Our 1920 house had the original kitchen and an under-used addition, which some call a three season porch, adjacent to it. We began the renovation by replacing the old jalousies with energy efficient windows and door. To help blend the two rooms, our contractor removed as much of the shared wall as possible. The original plan was to take down the entire wall; however, our plan had to be revised when we discovered plumbing inside that wall. Our contractor helped us contain the cost by custom building more kitchen cabinets to match the existing ones. This also gave me lots of additional storage - who doesn't love that! Bead board was installed along the breakfast room wall and at the ends of the cabinets. We had a local artisan make the wrought iron towel bar/pot rack. Recessed lighting was installed in both rooms along with honed "Jerusalem Gold" limestone countertops and "Saltillo" terracotta tiles (set on the diagonal. We visually joined the two spaces by using the same materials and colors throughout. It was a challenge to put a "new" kitchen into an old home. We wanted it to look as if this renovated kitchen was original to the house. Having our contractor custom build more of the old style cabinets helped retain that look. My husband and I have traveled to Tuscany together and were inspired by the earthy colors and rustic textures of that landscape. We kept this in mind when we were making the design choices as we renovated this space. In conclusion, we are pleased with the result.

I added sheer panels to the slider and the window in the family room. I thought the room needed a bit of softness. Im happy with them and I have had positive feedback from family and friends. I would love to know what you all think. Thank-you for looking.

In our new master we are going with an UPDATED sort of old Hollywood glamour look. Traditional mixed with more modern pieces with crystal mirrored and silver accents. Thanks for visiting! This bedroom was featured as an inspiration room on the RMS TV show episode 212 which aired 12/28/08.

This tuscan living space is cozy and inviting, yet riddled with a bold color palette. Alder wood mantel, beams and built-ins. An open floor plan combining kitchen, dining room, and family room with easy access thru french doors to 2 outdoor living spaces, one with a fireplace and full kitchen/BBQ. Wonderful entertaining layout!

The walls in this room originally had 50 year old drywall over them but we ripped it out and exposed the horizontal slats of wood underneath it. We chose to only remove the drywall on the wall behind the bed to really make it a feature wall.

A combination living room, dining room, work space, and piano room all rolled in one loft-like space. The use of natural earthy colors and creative space planning makes for a cohesive living space.

They foyer/front hall. I've had this blue marbled wallpaper up for a very long time and I am planing on changing it once I find something I like. The stair railing was replaced by my DH 17 years ago the original was wrought iron but not the nice type of today. It was very UGLY. Floor was terazzo but we covered it with oak. Library to the right formal LR to the left family room straight ahead.

We wanted our living room to be classy but comfortable. We definitely did not want this room to be "off limits". And of course we had to incorporate our favorite colors aqua & brown. * The curtains & coffee table are from Z-Gallerie the couches are from Sofa-U-Love (we designed them ourselves-so fun! the rug is from Pottery Barn.

This is going to be my second baby (due 11/05/08 and I wanted to design something different for her room something totally out of my element - MODERN. My color design for the room are pink and green as the main colors and brown as the accent color with cherry blossom and giant leave murals on the wall. The letter "L" will be my baby's first initial. Enjoy.
