  • Rustyn's Nursery, All elements of this room were hand crafted. The moon, stars, cow, and boots were cut from wood, routed, and hand painted. Rustyn's name was made from rope and mounted to the wall, and the fence was hand drawn and painted on the wall to give a three dimensional look., Nurseries Design

  • From House to Apartment , I recently moved across country and downsized from a house to an apartment. The best way to decorate an apartment is to make the best use of what you already have. For instance, a piece of art or accessory may work better in a different room than before. Be flexible, creative, and experiment. , Living Rooms Design

  • New roommate on the way!!, We just put the finishing touches on the room today and are happy to say it's finished. We weren't able to find a lot of wall art we liked so everything you see we made/painted, except for the monkey painting on the wall shelves. For the race car track, we just painted a couple large canvases and added a stick on race track that you can configure any way you want to. We also have a cute pillow under the window with a similar race car on it that pulls the two together. The other canvases incorporate numbers and letters that are also on the bedding in the crib. Across the the canvases you can see we spelled out our baby's name and just at the least second, we went back and did the 1, 5 and 6 in brown to pull in the brown from the other features in the room as well. For curtains, my wife found a couple bed sheets we liked a lot so she hemmed the bottom of them and there you go, inexpensive curtains that look great. I bought the stainless steel curtain rod to pull together the stainless steel on the bottom of the legs on the crib, dresser and wall shelving brackets too. The chair in the corner came from my office and was originally natural wood colored. I gave it a quick sanding, primed it and then painted it the brown we see throughout the room. My wife did the same thing with the bookcase under the window too. Our goal when putting this room together was not to make it overly baby looking, but we did want an obvious baby look with a little more modern feel to it. We had a blast putting the room together and I think we accomplished out goal. Now we just wait for our new roommate to arrive!!, Nurseries Design

  • Enzo's navy blue room!, This is my son's big boy room.
I wanted a place a little more grown up than plastic toys all over the place.
The stripes were realy hard to do, but in the future we can give the room a nautical theme.
In the near future I like to see crown molding and a side table :)
Thanks for looking!, Boys' Rooms Design

  • Painted kitchen with wood island, The ceilings are 10' tall so we had the cabinets go all the way up. All of the upper cabinets have lights inside and the boxes were built of alder and stained to match the island. The island has a flush eating ledge to give me a larger prep area. We added a small phone desk with upper glass cabinets across from the nook made use of a very odd space. I did all of the design work and my husband built it he is such a great craftsman!!! • Living Room Contemporary Remodel, Another room finished in our entire house remodel. We updated a worn-out 80's decorated space with warm wood flooring, neutral gray walls and pops of yellow and turquoise to create our dream living room. We still have to find the perfect reclaimd wood dining table to complete the look, but at least we're no longer embarrassed when we open our front door! Every bit of the work and decor was accomplished on a budget of $4000, including the construction, which moved a doorway, new drywall texture and an added expanded concrete step down from the entry. Most everything in the room, except for the flooring are vintage pieces found at garage sales/estate sales/auctions, and we did all of the work ourselves, including the art., Living Rooms Design

  • My Colorado foyer!, This is the foyer in our Colorado dream home high in the mountains. I designed the heated floor with honed copper slate and the stream running through it is of black pebbles trickling away from the fountain. The ceiling is barrel vaulted heavily textured and is painted in a metallic copper paint. Walls of windows allow this room to act as a warm welcome and a 'bridge' between our public and private spaces. Welcome to my home!, Porches Design
