  • From Concrete Walls to Livable Space: A Workout room and TV Room, This Basement Remodel was inspired by Divine Design's Candice Olson. She made NHL star Alex Steen's unfinished basement into a luxurious living space. I scaled her design down and tried to capture the essence of her design for my living space. My Basement was a concrete rectangle. It is about 900 sq ft in size--yes, a small half basement. I made my basement into 2 rooms...a workout room and a TV room. The flooring in the TV room is a hand carved hickory cocoa. The flooring in the work out room is vinyl tile. I am waiting on a leather sofa and recliner. Once the furniture is in place, I can call this project complete., Basements Design

  • Small master needs design help!, I have my house for sale right now. The most negative feed back comes from the master. (The bathroom is too small.) I have a crack in my 3 year old bathtub, so I figured I'd do a little remodeling... I have a $2000 budget, I will probably do the work myself, but I need design help! I was thinking about replacing the tub/shower with a whirlpool tub, ceramic surround, dual shower heads, maybe a unique type of wood flooring? and ceramic backsplash around the vanity area. I like the 1x1 small ceramic tile look. HELP, please!, Bathrooms Design

  • any ideas? A *few* saving factors to an otherwise BAD kitchen, When we moved into our house, the kitchen had a horrible 1970's olive green paint on the walls. there was a double oven in the wall where the microwave shelf is now. We had a half wall separating the dining room from a step-down family room. We filled in the wall and added french doors, a fresh coat of bold red paint, and...some cheap and poorly installed pergo, which is still better than the olive green checkered laminate flooring. We used to have a dishwasher, but it burnt out and we never got around to buying a new one. The laminate counters haven't changed at all since the house was built, except that they are falling apart. I need some help. I want to make it look better without spending a fortune. Cabinet doors are the first on my list., Kitchens Design
