When my husband and I found out we were having a little girl, my wheels immediately started spinning and construction began! I have always loved wainscot, so that was the first DIY project my husband tackled. I maximized space by setting the armoire caddy-corner with a changing station to the left and the crib directly on the opposing wall. The glider and ottoman is also caddy corner next to the changing station. I found an antique mahogany two-tier table with scallop edging from Craigslist -$50- and refinished it in a black pearl stain with gold etching and tulip flowers with the letter M for Baby Madison. The picture-in-picture was a design inspiration that my mom found in an interior decor magazine. We replicated the idea, wallpapering each of the inside panels bordered with molding, and placed vintage pictures that have been with my family for several years. On the 'changing station' wall, the other two picture-in-pictures have wired vintage figures of a manikin silhouette and Eiffel tower for that Parisian flare. My mother-in-law made all the bedding, drapery, and diaper hanging sack from fabric we picked out a local fabric warehouse in Buena Park, CA. The crib cornice and curtain tie backs were a great find at the Princess Canopy Shop on Etsy. They are stained in black pearl with brass/gold etching. My husband designed the M font and worked with an online wood-work company to produce the finished product at a greatly reduced price -under $40-. I bought the hanging chandelier on closeout with black shades and matching pink bows were tied using the leftover pink satin bedding fabric. The furniture is by Munire, purchased at USA Baby and the lamp was purchased on clearance at Tuesday Morning -$50-. I shopped around for the rug after finding that on an interior design website, I bought it for 50% less than retail from BoldRugs.com after they price matched another competitors price. The crib mobile was purchased on target.com.

Very neutral light yellow walls with berber type carpet on one half and travertine tiles on other half. Its a great space but is difficult to design b/c as you come down the stairs it is sectioned off into three rooms. I don't know what to do with the two rooms left of the stairs that are tiled. The carpeted side is currently being used for a TV room. Lighting is good for a basement, has large windows and 12 can lights. It needs a center or focal point, maybe a unique chandelier or other interesting lighting. All suggestions welcome!

Here's my work in progress dining area. It features a wonderful spaceman photo print by one of my favorite photographers a vintage eames table some vintage eames wire chairs with black covers and a george nelson saucer lamp. I'd like to warm and soften up the feel of this dining room. Any feedback or tips would be appreciated.

we replaced the faux stone fireplace wall with custom unit my husband designed and built. We painted the room a red to blend with the kitchen added new lighting and of course you noticed the TV. All the wires for the electronics are hidden but easy to get to through doors on either side.

This space was put together soley by a bachelor who has a liking for abstract and a contemporary lounge style..not what most would expect to see in Wyoming. There is a stainless steel wire accent feel within the home..you will notice the stairs don't have the typical wood vertical beams. I have replaced them with custom designed stainless steel wire. There is a wall sconce (no pic yet and the ceiling fan follow the same theme as well.

My 1970 Kitchen has had a few appliance upgrades and a splash of paint. We took down the ceiling fan that was in the kitchen and had trouble with the new fixtures. Sheetrock starting falling and studs were no where to be found. My favorite thing that is truly original is my Dishmaster Faucet.

This is the "bakyard" area measuring at about 30'x20' off of my ground floor apartment in Manhattan. I know, it needs tons of help! It recieves partial sun/shade which limits plants I can purchase. It is also very large and hard to fill with relaxation on a very small budget... Would love seating area, better grill, plants, and privacy...
