  • English Garden Dining & Living Room, Hello there! It has been so long since I updated my rooms. I admit I ran away from RMS but now I feel ready to come back - good or bad ratings & comments. You can't please everyone. I am a fan of antiques & pretty things to gaze upon and not everyone has the same taste. By posting my rooms, I am not suggesting that this is the way ALL rooms should be or look. I am only hoping to give someone else an idea or two as much as I have gathered from all of your rooms as well. So can't we all just get along? ;), Dining Rooms Design

  • Kitchen on a budget, When we purchased our 140 year old home it was a wreck. Frustrated that we were quoted astronomical prices to renovate our kitchen we decided to do it on our own.
Because we did all of the work ourselves the entire kitchen cost 10K. The corbels above the stove are actually fancy shelf supports from a home decorating store and painted to match the cabinets.
Key here: Kitchen cabinets were purchased off ebay (from a guy who's still selling them) and installed by us. We had them spray painted in Benjamin Moore's 'Muslin'. The walls are Benjamin Moore's Natural linen so it won't look all matchy matchy., Kitchens Design

  • Mud Room, We bought a home built in 1973 - all original. The kitchen was small and awkward so we decided to move it to the formal dining room and convert the existing kitchen to a mud room and office since it was right off the garage. We did not have the money to put in new cabinets so we painted the old ones a bright yellow, put in a red sink for dog washing, etc, used the eat-in area to add additional storage cabinets and built in a bench under the window. Put in bright colorful Mexican tiles (from Ebay) for the backsplash and my daughter painted a colorful mural in the soffit area above the cabinets to tie it together. My husband took out the stove (sold it on Craig's list) and built a pantry for food storage. We kept the old refrigerator and built a desk for me to work at. This room was done for about $1,200., Other Spaces Design

  • Bathroom remodel on a very small budget, We purchased our home one year ago and the existing master bath was a NIGHTMARE. I almost did not buy the house just because it was so bad. We had a really tight budget so I had to buy from home improvment stores cragislist etc to get this done. I also used ceramic tile that looked like real stone vs a more expensive material. I did make a expensive mistake along the way with the glass so hopefully I can help others by giving them advise to help them save money., Bathrooms Design

  • My Living Room: Lovely Light, Lackluster Layout(?), I love the open floorplan of my living room/kitchen as well as all the natural light (and the hardwood floors!), but am wondering whether the layout of the living room could be improved.
