80's Update

In this 1980's bathroom the gray and beige tile was given an updated look through the application of a modern gray and beige botanical wallpaper. The upper cabinet doors were removed to create open shelving for display and all cabinetry was painted espresso brown. Ethnic art and accessories and a white all-cotton shag rag rug completed the transformation.

My fiance and I just moved into our new apt. The paint in the bathroom was a horrible navy blue and white painted with a sponge texture. The worst thing is that he loved it! After an argument he let me remodel. New chrome fixtures new mirror lights and definitely new paint!! He had no idea I would do such a good job transforming this room which this is now his favorite room :

I was able to find a great deal on Broyhill furniture and bought several pieces of the whole house collection. We had plans of redecorating this room anyways and also purchasing a new updated TV, the great deal only made that push over the edge. I am so happy with the way that the room turned out. There are only a few things that stayed in the room from the way it was previously. I hope that this room gets better reviews than what my living room got before the redo. This nursery was done on a budget. I didn't have much money to work with AT ALL. Most things were found through garage sales. The entire room including furniture was decorated on less than $500. It's still a work in progress and I'm trying to figure out what to do with the wall next to the glider. I'm thinking I want to add more black accents to the room, maybe a shelf? Any suggestions are welcome.

Just recently moved in a previously owned home and needed to decorate the dining room to our tastes. We added hardwood floors, shadow boxes below the chair rail, a new light fixture, a new area rug and curtains and our furniture. I fell in love with my mid-80s tri-level because of its unique living space. Instead of focusing on square footage, the design really utilizes cubic feet with high vaulted ceilings dominating the main level of the home. This is my 6 year old daughters very own room for the first time. She's always shared a room with her big sister until now. She loves pink and brown. All of the furniture in the room except the bed was old oak or pine that I painted to match the colors she picked out. Painted furniture includes the picture frames that I polka dotted and striped, the shelf on the wall, the tall corner shelf, the trunk by the bed, the dresser, the vanity, and the chair that I found a flea market for three dollars and recovered the seat. A few more tweaks need to be done, like knobs for the dresser & ect., but overall this is her room and she loves it.
