  • Inspiring Office, I'm an interior decorator in Nashville TN and was so inspired by Jennifer's Design Star room I made my own interpretation! My artist mom and I freehand painted the office so I could feel inspired to create beautiful spaces for my clients! My design aesthetic is traditional with a modern twist and I wanted my work space to reflect that. Now that the office is finished I'm looking forward to transforming my client's homes!Check me out at www.ddfranklin.com, Living Rooms Design

  • Blue and White Dinner Party on the Porch, Come join us for dinner on the porch...I'm so glad you stopped by! I "shopped" the house to find the things you see here. You don't have to spend a lot to do a pretty tablescape...the blue bottles are just left overs...they came from the grocery store with a coffee flavored drink in them. Hope you have as much fun viewing this table as I did putting it together! :-) Come visit my blog to see lots more tablescapes:: http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/, Porches Design

  • Vintage Nursery, Our first baby boy's nursery was inspired by the work of Rodney White. We loved the vintage and retro feel as well as the inspirational messages of Rodney's paintings. We found some great retro looking toys at a local home store to accessorize and also painted the mural in Rodney's style. The mural is all hand painted with the exception of the lettering which was a custom stencil we ordered. Also all of the bedding and window treatments were hand made by my wife's grandmother., Nurseries Design

  • 1940's Cottage Kitchen Make-Over, This 1940's kitchen make-over took the small original galley kitchen and dining room and opened up the two rooms as one large functional eat-in kitchen. With custom made cabinets and a distressed island, the new kitchen is quaint, relaxed, and perfect for entertaining. White subway tiles, a farm house sink, window seat, book shelves, and an old barn door as focal points, this new kitchen is a breath of fresh air. , Kitchens Design

  • Craft Room, I am not quite finished with this room it's in the works. I am thinking of removing the carpet and putting black and white carpet tiles. Wanting to add crown moulding a chair rail and a padded vallance over the window using the same fabric that is in the chair seat. Any suggestions or Comments? :)

UPDATE 2/11/09: Thanks to everyone who left such SWEET and helpful comments. I haven't actually done anything else to this room besides add a few knick knacks as soon as I get a vallance up or anything else I will post some NEW pics :D Sorry if I haven't replied to those who have had questions I haven't been on here in a while. Keep the suggestions and comments coming! ;), Other Spaces Design

  • Budget Dining Room UPDATE, Yay, my dining room was picked by HGTV for their "Dining Rooms on a Budget: Our 10 Favorites From Rate My
Space http://www.hgtv.com/decorating/dining-rooms-on-a-budget-our-10-favorites-from-rate-my-space/pictures/page-2.html if the link doesn't work, it should work if you copy and paste it into the browser.
But since my post I have been working on changing the room a little, off course still on a budget. The paint changed from beige to grey, a new indoor/outdoor rug from Home Decorators, spray painted the urn white and some new DIY curtains with hardware from West Elm.

I have been seriously obsessed with horizontal striped curtains and after doing some research I decided to paint them.
http://cuckoo4design.blogspot.com/2012/03/another-horizontal-striped-curtain-diy.html

I love them and might make some more for my living room.

I bought the all-glass table at an estate auction for $25. The 1940s oil painting and the buffet mirror are also from different auctions each for $60. I would love to have button tufted chairs but I have 2 small children and 4 cats - so wicker it is for now, because it is super durable, I'm considering spray painting them one day.
I put up the crown molding myself.
I bought the light fixture in Germany. It is a replica of a designer chandelier which you can purchase at www.dwr.com for about $2000 and zgallery is selling a replica for about $350. I purchased mine for about $80., Dining Rooms Design

  • Rory's Gender Neutral Nursery, This is the bonus room accessible only from the master bedroom. It doubled as our shoe closet/overflow and home office. When we found out we were having another child, it seemed the perfect place to house our new addition. We did not find out if we were having a boy or a girl so we needed a room that would work for either gender. The room was a drab brown (previous owners) so we brightened it up with light grays and whites to make the space appear larger and feel more airy. Since it's still the room where the family gets ready for the day, we kept the TV but moved it to the wall. the built-ins hide the must-haves and we've corralled the shoes into their own space. The crib and bedding is Pottery Barn, the rocker is Land of Nod, the art is from Etsy, the rug is from Rugs USA, the changing table is a re-finished flea market score, and the drapes are West Elm. , Nurseries Design
