  • Northwest Contemporary Kitchen Remodel, We purchased our outdated 1964 home 10 years ago and have been remodeling it slowly. We recently finished the kitchen/laundry addition. One of the main drawbacks of our home was the fact that there was no laundry room. The washer and dryer were previously located in a small closet off of the main hallway.

After much thought, we decided to include the washer/dryer in the new kitchen area. We'd seen this many times in European homes and decided it would be a good fit for us as well. So far, I've really enjoyed it. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and it has been really handy! Also the high counter tops over the washer/dryer makes a great buffet area, easily accessible to the patio area (coming soon...)

By far, the most difficult item for me to pick out was the counter tops. I really love the look of cement but was nervous to use it because it's not as durable. After months of looking at different materials we finally decided on quartz counter tops by Caesarstone in Raven. Hard to tell in the photos, but it's a very soft black/deep gray. We went with stained concrete for my table though and I absolutely LOVE it! In fact, it's my favorite part of the kitchen!

I've spent countless hours both watching HGTV and browsing here on the website getting ideas for the remodel. RATE MY SPACE was the source of much inspiration and I've been looking forward to finally adding my own photos to it :)

Our goal was to create a warm, cozy kitchen area that all four of us could enjoy. Used warm colors to help counter the LONG, gray Oregon days. We're happy with the results!

Thanks for taking a look :)

  • Warm Elegant French Inspired Dining Room, This is the dining room In a house I did about 4 years ago. My client bought a very plain track house and we added architectural details such as pediments over the doors. We also refinished the wood floors in an ebony stain, painted all interior doors and handrails on stairs a brownish black, changed all door hardware to oil rubbed bronze, and replaced all light fixtures. My client has a love for all things French. We had a great time hunting for all of the furnishings. When I took these photos the house was not quite finished. Some of the accessories were not placed and mirrors not yet hung, etc... I hope you like it. , Dining Rooms Design

  • A Room Fit For Princess Grace, We recently added this addition to our house to make room for Grace! My dad and husband did almost all of the construction. I wanted the decor to look light and airy. I've always wanted to create a shabby chic sort of room. The kind I would like to have if it weren't for sharing a bedroom with my husband! I think this will be a good fit for Grace for many years to come!, Nurseries Design

  • Charlotte's Pink Eclectic and Sweet Nursery, Since the moment we found out we were expecting my brain went to work on the nursery! When we found out we were having a girl, I knew I wanted a modern chic room that was sweet and girly, but not "baby-ish". I scoured the internet (thank you, ETSY!) and pulled together what I feel is a beautiful nursery for my little girl! The room is calming and sweet, not too busy, and functional without being messy.

We just love it and hope that she'll look back one day and feel the love we put into each and every detail (:, Nurseries Design

  • Floor to Ceiling Transformation, Originally, a G-shaped kitchen that basically divided my kitchen in half & only used 1/2 the space. I have totally gutted it, designed a new layout that would utilize the entire space. Created a lot more storage, along with more convenient functions, like pull out drawers, single basin sink & taller faucet. New floor, more lighting that I installed myself. I had a very small budget but I feel I got a "Bang For Your Bucks". And even though I've designed every inch of it and had a pretty good idea of how everything would look, the finished project actually turned out much more beautiful than I ever imagined. This has been a very rewarding experience.
