I am not quite finished with this room it's in the works. I am thinking of removing the carpet and putting black and white carpet tiles. Wanting to add crown moulding a chair rail and a padded vallance over the window using the same fabric that is in the chair seat. Any suggestions or Comments? :
UPDATE 2/11/09: Thanks to everyone who left such SWEET and helpful comments. I haven't actually done anything else to this room besides add a few knick knacks as soon as I get a vallance up or anything else I will post some NEW pics :D Sorry if I haven't replied to those who have had questions I haven't been on here in a while. You have to really see the "before" to truly appreciate our kitchen now. It was UGLY! Now we have stacked cabinetry that draws the eye to the peak of the cathedral ceilings with soft cream-colored raised-panel doors and a classic beaded inset frame featuring magnificent molding flutes columns pilasters keys and corbels. This is our dream kitchen and we researched for over a year to find the "right fit" of a contractor and designer to make our vision a reality. They nailed it!

We had to completely rebuild our front porch. The floor is mahogany wood stained. The ceiling and columns are original except for the bases of the columns which were rotted. Notice the columns are a larger scale version of the columns in the foyer. Thanks for looking!

Updated May 09 photos.... I added a better shot of the headboard fabric. Bold modern graphic large scale design with some contemporary elements mixed with eclectic furniture styles. The window treatment material was the jumping off point. I made the curtains headboard pillows.

Our little girls room has brown damask wallpaper, picture frame moulding, crown moulding and a pink ceiling. The picture frame moulding has pink inside as well. The damask and polka dot bedding is from Serena & Lily. We used our sons nursery furniture but painted it white.

My kitchen is one of the inspiration rooms on episode #208 of the Rate My Space Show. Thank you Angelo, Jillian and HGTV for choosing my kitchen as an inspiration room. It was quite an honor and a lot of fun being on the show. I renovated my kitchen a couple of years ago. We went from an outdated 1980's kitchen to this. The original kitchen had pickled oak cabinets with white formica countertops. I wish I had taken a "before" picture to show you. The change is remarkable.

Dark chocolate wall which ties the Dining area and Living Rm together. The Fireplace has simple Birch Wood squares. The modern sofa is a bold statement and is accented w/ brown leather chairs & accent chair. Patio doors in the Dining Room have floor to ceiling fabric panels that slide on a rail system.

This is my 18 year old daughter's bedroom. She is about to leave for college. I built the headboard and the built-ins. I still have to build the doors for the shoe area. (its too hot here now to be in the shop! The Paint is Lowe's card C58b: Aqua Smoke Blue Blood and Mountain Pine.

My simple and elegant kitchen. It has wonderful white glazed cabinets with brown quartz countertops. The island and buffet cabinets are espresso with White Delicatus granite. Floors are wide plank espresso stained oak. Backsplash is tumbled marble in a subway/diamond pattern combo. The layout includes an attached eating area with built in buffet and wine cellar.

It's a good thing RMS doesn't have smellevision! This dated house was occupied by tenants for many years, and needed to be totally rennovated from floor to ceiling before putting it on the market. We removed the 70's railing,scraped the popcorn celings,retextured the walls before painting,added crown moulding,new wood floors,gave the fireplace a complete makeover,and really changed the whole feel of the house by opening up a wall with an archway. We couldn't be more thrilled as it sold the same day,with 15 offers and for $55k over asking price! We're still in shock!
