  • Wet Bar renovation, Gutted our old wet bar and installed Ikea cabinets and a black pearl granite countertop. Nothing fancy but we like it a lot more than the mirror fiesta that was the last wet bar., Living Rooms Design

  • Rustic mountain home - Kitchen, Dining, and Living room combo, Our home is in a ski area and it backs up to a greenbelt on the mountain. When we bought it, my husband said it looked like Laura Ashley lived there - so it needed (still needs) a lot of work. For the first phase, we completely rennovated the kitchen and modified the living area. We changed a closet holding the washer/dryer into a wetbar, added hardwood floors with stone trim, and updated the entertainment center. The house was very dated as it was built in 1989.

We changed out the windows and removed one of the the two sliding back doors and turned it into a large window. There is good natural light in the daytime. Most of the pitures were taken at night and seem a bit darker than reality.

We replaced the wooden chair railings with custom iron railings. The wall with the entertainment center had slanted notty pine which was removed to lighten up the room.

It's a small area but very cozy. We love spending time there cooking and entertaining.

We did the remodel in 3 phases to allow us to use the house during ski seasons and summer. The next phase was to remove a bedroom wall to make a home office. We extended the garage and added a front deck including sliding glass doors., Kitchens Design

  • 70's Family Room Transformation, See more AFTER pictures here: http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Living-Rooms/Living-Room-Makeover---repost-with-UPDATES/detail.esi?oid=7221962

As soon as we moved in we tore down the wallpaper, smoothed out the "popcorn" textured ceiling, painted the walls and trim, and added our own furniture and accents. In the years to follow we've arranged and rearranged the furniture. At some point we hope to get rid of the bulky tv in the corner and replace it with a flat screen tv on the wall to the right of the fireplace, but that might not happen for a while.

Please leave comments and any ideas on how to further improve the space. Thanks!, Living Rooms Design

  • Man Cave, We finished our basement this year to give more room for social events. We installed a hardwood floor for the game room and put in a home theater room and bathroom. Installed a nice beverage area with glass tile top. Also have unique tile top for bathroom vanity. Still need to work on wall decorations., Basements Design

  • Time Travel Back to the 70's!, The house was built in 1969, and as far as we can tell, the basement was finished shortly afterward. We are trying to use this space for multiple purposes: entertainment area with wetbar, guest bedroom area and game room. Right now it's not well defined, and it's very dark and dated. The wall paneling is rough wood, and the floor is a dark stained wood (not sure what material it's made of). The ceiling has that ugly white acoustic tile. The windows have faux-stained glass shutters. Any ideas as to how to improve this space would be greatly appreciated!, Basements Design

  • a family room not a media room, This is our family room/media room. It is on the level below the main floor of a 4 level split. Originally it had 1970 paneling (not knotty pine) and berber carpet on top of linoleum. We drywalled, installed hardwood floors and recessed lighting. I HATE the fireplace brick. I'd like to cover with something more modern...maybe a stone mosaic. Odd furniture arrangement due to one wall having french doors to the sunroom, one wall has a wet bar (go 70's), the other a sectional and of course the fireplace!!, Media Rooms Design
