mountain/western theme for our log home. Not the usual red/green color scheme as in most log homes but burgundy and blue with enough color variety to highlight the logs. My goal with the design was upon entering the foyer I wanted to see a knock-out log staircase the fireplace and views out the french doors. The TV is in the armoire. High double cathedral ceilings with loft and guest suite overlooking the great room. The space functions well for us and is very relaxing.

Our formal areas are together. Ceilings are 16 ft high, which makes walls so tall I do not know what to do with them. Also would like plantation shutters and need to know if right for this room and and would I choose white or wood stained?

My house has several Christmas trees in all rooms dressed up in different themes. Some rooms have two or three trees. It's so much fun decorating this house for Christmas.

Are you looking for a baby boy's room free of animated characters? The wall color is a mocha hue and the bedding colors are spa blue and brown. The bedding is made of silks, brown minky dots and paisley tapestry fabrics with a sueded pillow. The crib is Venetian Slate from Bratt Decor. Behind the bed in an open frame are his initials. The wall was painted cream and glazed with a dark brown color behind the open frame above the crib. The final touch to the room is the cowhide rug that add's a touch of western elegance.

My client-friend wanted a bedroom that was romantic, stylish, "pulled-together", and had a "far away" feel. I worked like crazy for 4 days while she and her husband were away on vacation. I took my color inspiration from the hawaiian barkcloth fabric I purchased from Hawaii for the window treatments... Most of the larger furniture (although I removed 3-4 pieces and bedding needed to stay - so I used color, some smaller pieces of furniture, accessories and art to create the space and feeling she wanted. A flokati rug anchored the seating area by the pool window. I built a wood frame and created a valance for the sliders. I did alot of editing of existing "stuff" in the room and pared it down with all new art and accessories. I painted an accent wall in "bordeux" and glazed the architectural detail to create visual impact. I changed the pillows on the bed which gave the focal point some pizazz! I created a headboard with an iron art piece and carved wooden art plaques. I bought new lighting for each end table as well as romantic lighting for sitting area and chest. I was relieved after the "reveal" as she and her husband were estatic!

I like to add punches of red for the winter by switching out throws and pillows. Add in few garlands, wreaths and evergreen picks, and I'm all ready for Christmas!
