"The Water Garden" was built in memory of my Mom. We found some gardening notes she wrote in the 1940's and there she described how she would envision a garden with a water feature and some of the plants she would use. We tried to incorporate her ideas and vision...here's to you Mom!

Rural suburban backyard on the edge of a very large metropolitian area..only 6 years old. lot 90W X 139L. In a subdivison of above ground pools and trampolines,We are concentrating on making it more "wildlife habitat friendly" then for looks.We still have a long way to go on filling in and making it more natural..but that takes time and money. This is a beginning from what it use to look like...bare, empty, and nothing here....New construction, so its been a labor of love. :- Every year it gets better. There's still a lot to do, but I love doing it. :-

Newly built water feature finished in late October of 2010. We are excited about getting it running in the spring with plants, fish and pump.
Now in 2011 we are seeing the fruits of our labor in the flowers blooming around the pond. Fish survived our first winter with a blizzard and 22 inches of snow. They all made it through it and are now swimming in the sun. They have even spawned and we have young fish in the pond, complete with a duck every now and then and even a Blue Heron..yikes, NO!

Bathtub water feature...

This space is directly behind my covered back porch. I was tired of looking at the trees and thought of using an old bathtub as a water feature. Have great oak trees, so seemed like a natural spot for a shade garden to highlight the water feature and a cool space to enjoy nature! There are 7 goldfish in the tub and they're fun to watch.

My Porch/ Florida room is my Sanctuary. I read the newspaper, listen to my water fountain and watch my 4 cats romp around the space. However only one half of my Florida is every used. The north side is UGLY! I need help Carter Can! :-

This water feature and surrounding garden is my husbands pride and joy. There are 2 waterfalls plus a river that emptys into the large pond. This took about 2 years to finish.
