We recently (finally renovated / remodeled our master bathroom that had been sitting gutted since the day we bought our house - over 3 1/2 years ago. We finally were able to borrow the lump sum needed to do this massive makeover. The issue with the original bathroom - other than the fact that it was super dated (green wallpaper and yucky, was that the main drain was cracked and water was leaking to the floor below - into the walls and down to the floor. This is a second story bathroom and below it is the kitchen and dining room. Sadly the previous tenant was using the bathroom even with the broken drain pipes which had caused mold in the walls which we had to get professionally cleaned! Anyway, all that's in the past now and we have a fabulous modern (but comfortable master bathroom that feels like an expensive hotel / spa and it even has a view of the bay and golden gate bridge!

This is a new construction spec home in the Dallas area that my father (a custom homebuilder and I worked on together. Bc it is vacant, please ignore the lack of accessories and warmth. We wanted to make the home feel comtemporary, but not overly so. We used a lot of soft and neutral colors throughout that will hopefully appeal to most buyers.

When my daughter turned 2 we updated her nursery into a big girl's room with a twin bed. The hand-me-down dresser was originally plain oak. I painted that and the headboard, that I found on Craigslist, white. The knobs on the dresser came from Target (in sets of 4. The walnut bookcase also came from Target.

My husband loves photography and I love my decorating business-so we both needed a space to spread out in! It works-we can spread out, use our computers, print pictures, and love the island for drafting and drawing. It is perfect.

This is the kitchen in our new home. The cabinets are maple painted cream with black rope trim. The perimeter counters are leathered granite and the outer island with the columns is marble. Our floor is Asian walnut. Let me know what you think! I did this all on my own.

Before the kitchen remodel, the kitchen was all white (cabinets, tile countertop etc and closed off from the dinning room and french doors. Lets just say I'm a little more colorful than that.
The lower cabinets are walnut. The uppers are custom made by me and my brother. I bought a MIG welder and welded the uppers and the pantry door.

The glass upper is made from reused glass. We also poured the concrete countertops in place. The prep area has a butcher block counter.
I love how I have an area for prepping next to my stove. Even better is that I get to watch the sunset as I cook.

This master bathroom started life as part of a boxy bedroom. Actually, the entire master suite (including the walk-in closet began as something else. We rearranged rooms to create an awesome master suite in our mid-century ranch home.
