• Inspiration, I have been reading a lot of posts from a lot of people that took the time to rate my space and give me some excellent advice...so I went around my home and picked pieces that I love to look at for inspiration. Please enjoy and feel free to comment!, Other Spaces Design

  • A Taste of Tuscany..in Delaware???, These are photos of the main living area(s) of my home. The space is definitely Tuscan inspired, but like all of my designs I try to balance the space with tasteful, quality furnishing and accessories that fit the space appropriately, instead of overcrowding the space with every Tuscan thing I could find. Some of the pieces were custom made, but most were store bought.
The foyer mirror was originally a different color, so in order to make it fit I painted it with gold and oil rubbed bronze spray paint and coated it with a flat varnish to finish it off. I usually have a real palm in the foyer, but it is the middle of winter and I can't find anywhere! My last one had a centipede nest in the root of the plant so needless to say it couldn't stay in the house! It took me a week to figure out where those things were coming from!
I recently updated flooring upstairs as well as the railing on the steps which used to be white wooden spindles. In order to replace the railing I had to also replace the entire staircase! So to save a little bit of money I did the staining myself (what a pain!). I hope you guys enjoy the space!

  • Chocolate, Teal & Sage Nursery (close up pics added 12/9), For Broderick's nursery we chose a distinguished yet fun color palate of chocolate teal & sage. The deep espresso furniture offsets the light tan wall color and compliments the bright teal blue and soft sage green of the paisley crib bumper. The canvas prints are photographs ‘Mommy’ took in the first few weeks home from the hospital. The flat panel TV is wired for satellite and helps these brand new parents cope with late night feedings. We truly enjoy this room and hope you do too!, Nurseries Design

  • Cozy contemporary getaway, We purchased our starter home two months ago, and as a design guru, I had a BLAST designing and decorating the rooms! This is the master bedroom, one of the rooms we painted, along with my daughter's room and office (please check them out as well). I stuck with black, white, and gray for the color scheme and it turned out very well!, Bedrooms Design

  • Living room redo done with suggestions taken from RMS members!, This was a very low budget redo. I would love to get curtains that are longer than the ones I have but with 5 windows it just wasn't in the budget. New throw pillows aren't even in the budget. It was simply adding a panel to each window, painting, and adding some wall art that I made myself above the small sofa. , Living Rooms Design

  • Triptych Wall Art using Stencils , My bedroom was in desperate need of some art and I figured instead of buying something that was probably too expensive and not exactly what I was looking for, I would make my own art with some stencils I already had and some new ones I purchased., Bedrooms Design

  • Sweet, Serene Yellow Nursery for a Baby Boy, This mom wanted a sweet and serene gender neutral nursery for her first born. So, she painted the baby's room yellow - Behr Ultra in Moon Dance. The pine furniture was from Westwood Design, Cypress Point line in Honey Pine. The wall decals, from weeDECOR, are the whimsical tree with birds which were placed next to the crib and owls on a branch which sit over the changing table. She tells us her son loves looking at the decals when they are changing him and they love that the wall decals are made of eco-friendly fabric! The rug is the double border rectangular rug in Antique Linen from JC Penney's. The frog wall art and owl statue are from 2 separate art galleries in Santa Fe, NM where mom and dad vacationed before the little one was born., Nurseries Design

  • Got Huge Empty Walls? Large Bird Wall Art Murals can fill your space, My living room walls are huge with high ceilings. Even my large paintings looked dwarfed by the wall. So I painted a large wall art graphic of seabirds that compliments the imagery in the my original Metaphor paintings. Adding tall glass decorative accent pieces gives height to the table and pulls the whole wall space together with a contemporary look. It now has the WOW factor., Living Rooms Design

  • Textural Wall Art, This living room had a gorgeous monochromatic color scheme which was classic but contemporary. It needed an explanation point to make the space more dynamic.
I used her curtains as the inspiration to bring more pattern and texture into the space I hand-crafted textured art panels with custom designed patterns to give the room more dimension but keep with the clean lines. The finished room shows this was just what was needed to complete the space.
