My vanity/sink area is in it's own area and the shower and toilet are in the next room separated by a pocket door. I wanted the vanity part to flow into my bedroom to match my dresser and the colors all to flow from one room to the next. The vanity was made from scratch and to be 39 inches tall as I am 6'1. The fixtures are all rose bronze and the doors handles/light are bronze. Mirror and light fixture match vanity.

we moved into this 50 year old home last fall. the master bath had been remodeled prior to our purchase but our attention had been focused on the kitchen remodel and we haven't until now really paid any attention to this room. the granite is so busy i just wanted to complement it and keep the decor kind of simple and clean. intead of the traditional glass apothecary jars i found some open glass jars for a more modern take.

We recently (finally renovated / remodeled our master bathroom that had been sitting gutted since the day we bought our house - over 3 1/2 years ago. We finally were able to borrow the lump sum needed to do this massive makeover. The issue with the original bathroom - other than the fact that it was super dated (green wallpaper and yucky, was that the main drain was cracked and water was leaking to the floor below - into the walls and down to the floor. This is a second story bathroom and below it is the kitchen and dining room. Sadly the previous tenant was using the bathroom even with the broken drain pipes which had caused mold in the walls which we had to get professionally cleaned! Anyway, all that's in the past now and we have a fabulous modern (but comfortable master bathroom that feels like an expensive hotel / spa and it even has a view of the bay and golden gate bridge!
feel free to follow our blog for the rest of our adventures in home makeover here - http://fixerwithaview.wordpress.com - we even have a blog section about how we almost got onto HGTV's curb appeal - shot the reveal and everything before our project was cancelled.

We moved into our home in 1994. Over the past 18 years we have remodeled and/or redecorated every room in the house with the exception of our master bedroom, master bathroom, and master walk-in closet. We are in the very early stages of our remodel but everything is coming along fine.

This is the smallest bedroom in our recently purchased home, which we turned into the guest room. With little space to work with, we made it very welcoming for our guests.

Took our old dingy bathroom which had a barn wood panel wainscotting, peeling ceiling, stained linoleum floor... to a luxurious, relaxing and bright retreat. Who'd ever want to leave this bathroom when you have all the necessities around you. Looking for suggestions for window treatments and what to hang above toilet or wall opposite toilet.

This bathroom is huge! When we built the home I wanted two separate areas in the master bath. I wallpapered it all with a gorgeous rose pattern but 16 years later we need a makeover. Here we go!

We live in a 3BR, 1BA Cape Cod style home. With 1 bath we wanted to do as much as we could to make it a nice place to shower and get ready for work. Of course, it's not a huge master suite like we would like, but we think we did a good job with the small space. What do you think?

Our half bath used to have a pedestal sink. We removed it and replaced it with a vanity to give us more storage and counter space. We added Travertine tile to the back wall, a framed mirror and new light fixture.

I redecorated my Hall Guest Bath in a French Theme. My vanity is viewable from the hallway and family room so I wanted the vanity to look more like a piece of furniture. I restained the oak vanity in a rich mahogany and applied some wood carvings. I found the drawer pulls at a warehouse outlet for a $1 @, what a bargain!! The antique mirror was in my mother-in-law's basement. The inexpensive chandelier for elegance and I made the fabric chain cover. Notice the subtle wallpaper, border & crown molding to complete the elegant touch. I framed the tub area with a tapestry valance & taupe sheers. Inside the tub area itself
I applied a "Walle" topariry to the wall tile for interest as well as adding the Eiffel Tower Candles and container of
soaps inside the tub itself for fun. The rug is rubber backed and can be thrown into the washer and covers a tile floor that I could not afford to replace and there was really nothing wrong with it, only that I didn't like it anymore. Notice the medicine cabinent. I took off the door & replaced the door with a picture of the Eiffel Tower, easy to do. The little floor shelf
unit is handy for tissue, towels, candles, clock, etc. It's a fun room filled with little surprises and I get lots
of compliments.
