  • Sofa Transformation to Country, It's not everyone's taste, but for the longest time I've wanted a large print, floral sofa and couldn't find one I could afford. I did, however, happen across a bolt of upholstery fabric that was very close to what I had in mind so I took my delimma, and my staple gun, into my own hands. Now my sofa fits into my "old country", farmhouse look. , Living Rooms Design

  • Hello Hollywood!!!, This space went from drab to glam with many updates throughout. It got a couple coats of paint(Proper Gray by Sherwin Williams). I made my own custom headboard, attempted the art of re-upholstery, created artwork above the bed out of leftover fabrics and lengthened some standard curtains to create drama in the room....., Bedrooms Design

  • Living room - Before, I'm pretty okay with the living room but I could use some advice on sofa cushions. The ones in the photo are from Big Lots and William Sonoma home. I'm thinking of having some custom made. Suggestions? Also do I need to tablescape the plantation desk? It makes it difficult to open if I put things there but I wonder if it looks too bare. , Living Rooms Design

  • Great (Potential) Room, Antiques and upholstered furniture have no personality in this space where sterile white walls with dark-stained crown molding turn the room cold industrial and very plain despite the wonderful vaulted ceiling and massive brick fireplace. Not only do the walls need help but the flooring needs overhauling desperately., Living Rooms Design

  • Urban Cottage, This is my first home. It's a mid-century apartment turned condo and was pretty basic when I got. Having lived in rentals my whole life I couldn't wait to own something and paint it according to my whim. The mural and the fauxbois beam were so fun to do. The I build the shelves to accentuate the mid-century horizontal lines. I upholstered the furniture myself and enjoy being surrounded by so many beautiful things., Living Rooms Design

  • Blue & Silver Budget Bedroom, When we moved into our house a few months ago, this room was plain white "blah." We splurged on DKNY Urban Vine bedding ($300), and decorated the entire room around the colors in the bedding. We painted the walls a serene, light greenish blue and decorated with silver accents. The feature I love best is the crystal chandelier, which we took from our dining room and spray painted silver. Other than the bedding, everything else in the room was purchased on a budget. I found the armchair for $15 on Craigslist, found a guy on Craigslist to re-upholster it for $200, and purchased the fabric for around $85, for a total of about $300 for the chair. We purchased the little white nightstand on Craigslist for $15 and spray painted it white. The rug was a close out sale at Pottery Barn for $200. The curtain panels look like silk, but are polyester knockoffs from Target that cost $20 per panel. Headboard: $260 from online retailer; sconces: $60 apiece from budget online retailer. This is one of our first completed decorating projects of our first home; we'd love to hear what you think., Bedrooms Design
