  • Metallic Butterflies vs. Gold Speckled Countertops, We moved into a house that was built in 1972. It hasn't been updated since the trendy owners/builders put up the gaudy butterfly wallpaper and installed fluorescent bar lights on the sides of the mirror. (You should see the harvest-gold festival in our kitchen...)

We would LOVE to renovate this space into a contemporary guest/master bath if such a quandary is possible., Bathrooms Design

  • Glass Bathroom, The Glass Bathroom is designed using three types of 8mm glass tile: a WATERFALL inspired focal wall juxtaposed to 1x1 tile for floors and other walls. The "fluent" space is enhanced by an onyx countertop which when uplit adds a dramatic impact. The floating cabinet adds lightness to the space. The convex shape of the sculptural faucet balances the concave effect of the glass sconces., Other Spaces Design

  • Ugly 70's kitchen , Our kitchen has an original harvest gold stovetop matching vent-a-hood and trash compactor. Original avacado green mexican "tile" linoleum. Cabinets? Yuck! White sink must be original because I cannot keep it clean--all the enamel has worn off and everything sinks in and stains it (same thing goes for the white laminate countertops). The scalloped edge around the cabinets just above the sink has got to go! The only thing I like about our kitchen is the space and the 9 foot high ceilings., Kitchens Design

  • Blue & White is just right, My kitchen is a work in process - it's not at all completed... been working on it for over a year now, but I decided to start adding some pictures of the transformation. This is just from one Angle - I'll post other angles later.

Soon I'll add under cabinet lighting and a backsplash composed of 1"x1" glass tiles mixed with blues, black, & white, hopefully creating a visually engaging space.

Please feel free to comment - I have the hardest time making decisions so if you have any recommendations I'm all ears!, Kitchens Design

  • Modern Cottage Kitchen- Please Rate., It might not look like a big deal to you but I'm thrilled to have a functioning kitchen! It's just a simple cottage kitchen but we love it. It looks great and works great too. My favorite thing aside from the Quartz counters is my spice rack that slides out from the side of the range. All the spices fit so neatly in the narrow cabinet and they're right there ready to use when I'm cooking... which is now often., Kitchens Design

  • Intervention needed... ;), I just moved into this house a few months ago and want to start renovating. The appliances are new. I need help deciding on colors. I hate the cabinet color but they are only a couple of years old and are in great condition. The countertops have to go and I want to do a glass backsplach. Also I'm thinking hardwood floors throughout. Any suggestions for color and what do about changing the cabinets would be great. And yes the ugly college furniture is not staying! ;), Living Rooms Design

  • Akward partially redone kitchen, This is the kitchen in the house that I am buying. (closing end of this month). It does have new ceramic floors cabinets and countertops. I dont like the color of the countertops but I can maybe live with it depending on what I do with the walls. The walls have ugly peeling wallpaper and old tile. I will be adding a SS refrigerator and a SS dishwasher. This kitchen opens into the living room ., Kitchens Design

  • Previous owners were proud of their renovated kitchen - WHAT? This kitchen has already been updated??? That's scary!, 10x8 kitchen. Cupboards don't close see the velcro? Previous owners cut a hole in a closet (outside of the kitchen) for the fridge. Drawer faces are loose! Water damage took the hood right off the ceiling. Linoleum tile is cheap and looks bad. Faucet is from the utility sink as a temporary fix. Metal blinds hang in the aluminum window. Not enough cupboard space so a lot of stuff sits out on our counters. No pantry either. Not a space to be proud to entertain from-but I am forced to =( , Kitchens Design

  • Small Bathroom - Beautiful and blue from - 1970's ugly and worn out. , This bathroom desperately needed help. The bathroom is in a 70's house and is very small. The tile job is bad and the vanity is too large for the space. The tile has plastic wood trim and lots of caulk around it which makes me think that the tile job may be much worse than it looks on the surface. I am going to find out what lies beneath.

I striped most of the walls down to the studs and started installing my new blue bathroom. The mosaic tile took a while to put together. After that everything went up fairly easy. Replaced the vanity, counter, toilet, medicine cabinet adding trim around and to the ceiling. I added storage shelves recessed in the wall with trim to the ceiling to match the medicine cabinet and vanity, which I had added decorative wood to the door and drawers. The only thing that was not replaced was the tub which we had refinished to match the toilet and sink. The piece of granite for the counter was actually given to me as a 36 X36 at a granite fabricator. The man thought I would not be able to do anything with it (He was so wrong) and I thank him very much for my granite counter top. I cut it to fit the vanity, did the rock finish edging, and cut the hole for the sink in just over an hour. I had a budget of $900.00 for the bathroom. Doing all of the work myself with the exception of refinishing the tub I spent $846.98 to totally redo this hall bathroom. Could not have done it at all if I had to pay for demo and all of the instillations of medicine cabinet, counter, tile floor and shower, mosaic, built-ins, vanity, sink, toilet, faucets, Just the custom mosaic would have taken my budget.
