Our coffee table was looking blah and I was wanting to add some pattern to our living room, so my husband and I turned our coffee table into an ottoman.

Fell in love with this occasional chair at the Salvation Army. The missing cushion and dirty upholstery just made it more lovable. I'm no upholsterer but I'm satisfied with the result. Just missing decorative caps for the front legs. I tried fabricating some from an aluminum can but no success yet.

Inspired after reading the novel series Twilight, we stumbled across a rain forest mural that became the highlight of our tiny master bedroom. I wanted our room to have a modern outdoor feel. Because our space is small, we felt that bringing in the outdoors would make the room feel more open, like a patio opens to the outdoor living space...extending the size of the room. We chose earthy tones of chocolate, beige, tan, cream, black, and bright green. YES...bright green is found in forests all over this earth, so it's earthy! We chose to highlight our items in groups of three. Three lights above each night stand, three pictures above the head board, three pillows across the bed, another three pillows across the bed, two floating shelves and the TV all in line with each other in the same direction. Everywhere you look in the room we have tried to group our design elements into threes. We are a family of three; my husband, my daughter, and I...so I think in threes.

These are my mothers chairs. She purchased them in Mexico about 18 years ago. After she passed away I kept them. I wanted to update them, and make them special, for my Living room and for my mom : After trying to find an upholstery shop that would reupholster them, I gave up, they charge a ridiculous amount! (500$!! I decided to take on the task myself. After lots of research, and various tutorials, I sanded, painted, and reupholstered them myself. I have finished one completely. Here is a before and after. Let me know what you all think.

This master bedroom was done for a close friend. The Client (my friend was on a very tight budget so I rolled up my sleeves and we made many of the items you see in the room. The head board we made and tufted. Cost, @ $100.00 (note: if you are going to go to the trouble of tufting, be sure it can be seen when the bad is made The bed coverings, coverlet and shames, I sewed from free scraps from a local custom bedding maker. Cost: $0.00. I sewed every pillow and wove ribbon to made the bolster pillow. Cost: @ $50.00 with pillow forms. (note: running on a tight budget, purchase cheap king size bed pillows from a budget store like Big Lots and after you have separated the filling sew two lines down the middle about 1â apart, cut between the stitching and you have two pillows forms for about $2.50 each.. I wanted art work in the space that had just a pinch of color, I love the work of Laurie Maitland so I used her work as inspiration for this piece. The frame was on clearance so total for art @$100.00. Stools were purchased on clearance and the art over the bed was 4â slats of thin wood that were cut, woven and spray painted black. The lamps, clearance from a big box department store. And lastly the night stands, I designed, were made by a local wood worker who did it as a hobby, for $125.00 each. Well you can see we did not spend a lot of money for a high impact room. The key to this successful design is the color palette was kept simple.

This is the entry way we use every day. I decided to remove the folding doors and make a seating area. I got a unit from Pottery Barn and made my own cushion with a board/foam/staple gun. Each of us in the family have our own basket which is very handy. I added extra hooks on both sides. Using left over wall paper I was able to cover one small section. The use of molding adds detail to the space. (my father-in-law's idea!

This room was designed for a five year old girl using pale pinks, greens, cream, and vintage finds. Many of the pieces in the room are furniture revamps from thrift store finds. Enjoy this English garden themed room.

I have been working with this client for over a year now and her home as really been transformed! She went from a very tradition space to a vibrant and contemporary one. The space was just professionally photographed; I am so proud of it I am hoping to have it published! More photos- professional photos to come!

I've just completed redesigning our master suite. I made the tufted padded headboard in a faux suade fabric, the custom linen/silk curtains (modified store bought by adding the blue silk center strip and reupholstered the chair to match my headboard. (There's a brown throw over the left side of the chair, so it looks a little funny I've been watching HGTV since the early 90's and have learned alot. Please let me know what you think!

We wanted a room that hinted at the fact that we have traveled, but wanted a classic traditional style that is also soothing. We are not all done...hoping for help. Need wall sconces near the bed, have to finish the molding and whatever other people suggest!
