This bathroom hasn't been touched since at least the 1970's. We have many limitations with space, but it is much brighter and cleaner. Clawfoot Tub was turned into a shower with new fixtures.

Known for my dynamic "S"-curve design, I custom built his and hers vanities that draw you into the room. The dark stripe of tile accentuates the Zebrawood vanities beautifully, and ties in with the tub surround.

This bathroom desperately needed help. The bathroom is in a 70's house and is very small. The tile job is bad and the vanity is too large for the space. The tile has plastic wood trim and lots of caulk around it which makes me think that the tile job may be much worse than it looks on the surface. I am going to find out what lies beneath.
I striped most of the walls down to the studs and started installing my new blue bathroom. The mosaic tile took a while to put together. After that everything went up fairly easy. Replaced the vanity, counter, toilet, medicine cabinet adding trim around and to the ceiling. I added storage shelves recessed in the wall with trim to the ceiling to match the medicine cabinet and vanity, which I had added decorative wood to the door and drawers. The only thing that was not replaced was the tub which we had refinished to match the toilet and sink. The piece of granite for the counter was actually given to me as a 36 X36 at a granite fabricator. The man thought I would not be able to do anything with it (He was so wrong and I thank him very much for my granite counter top. I cut it to fit the vanity, did the rock finish edging, and cut the hole for the sink in just over an hour. I had a budget of $900.00 for the bathroom. Doing all of the work myself with the exception of refinishing the tub I spent $846.98 to totally redo this hall bathroom. Could not have done it at all if I had to pay for demo and all of the instillations of medicine cabinet, counter, tile floor and shower, mosaic, built-ins, vanity, sink, toilet, faucets, Just the custom mosaic would have taken my budget.

My backyard is divided by a large retaining wall, and my deck sits off the back of the house on the top portion. So I decided to build an extension down to the other part of the yard, put a hot tub on it and build an outdoor entertainment area to relax and watch the evening news! (Did I mention that I never built a deck before this, or planned the production of an outdoor living area...lol It was a lot of time, a lot of questions, but looking back it sure was fun!

I converted my master bathroom with one sink and shower stall and a walk-in closet to accommodate a soaking tub and two sinks. It was suggested that I add some art work. I have found and installed a new picture. Thanks for the comments! At the same time, I converted my sitting room into a walk-in closet (see Dream Walk-In Closet as well as my actual bedroom.

I took an all white bathroom and gave it a dramatic contrast with dark navy walls. Used etched mirrors and gold accents.Framed oversized vanity mirror with antiqued gold painted molding . Added chandelier found at local flea market to hang over tub. Hung painting to give illusion of bathing by a lake .

A spa like feel accompanies this bathroom... from the programmable heated floor to the 72" slipper claw foot tub (comfortably fits a man over 6" tall to the river-rock shower floor. We purchased custom two-toned fixtures in oil rubbed bronze and copper finish. We wanted the vanity area to look like a piece of furniture so we made it counter top height, included spindles and ball feet to help us achieve that look. We also added a shelf into the vanity area and had the side splashes created to pull it all together. To keep the sink area uncluttered we incorporated wall mount faucets. The final touch was adding the decorative tile in the middle of the vanity to add some color and break up the granite look (same tile is in the shower area and as wall decorations above the windows. We added outlets inside the vanities to allow us to hide hairdryers, shavers, electric toothbrushes, etc.. We used a combination of molding designs from the cabinet maker to create a unique mirror frame. We used an offset pattern of 19 X 19 tiles for the floor and to break up the large floor area as well as to highlight the claw foot tub and we created a tile carpet for it to sit on. The shower is a neo-angle area surrounded by 1/2 inch thick glass and tiled in a 16 x 16 natural stone and includes a bench and a wonderful river-rock floor that soothes your feet as you shower (the shower is large enough to hold 2 adults comfortably. We also included a few hooks between the tub and shower area so that there is a place to hang towels or other items. All lights fixtures are on dimmer switches ( 3 zones - above the vanity lights, above the tub and the rest plus the exhaust fan is hidden in one of the recessed lights! The final items that pull this bathroom all together are the crown molding, the oversize wood base cove molding, the stool, the cafe shutters that allow light in but allow us to keep our privacy, the full length mirror attached to the back of the bathroom door and the his & hers re-designed California Closets. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoy our bathroom!!
