  • Formal, warm and inviting living room, This is the room that would typically be called the formal living room. We are casual and have young children. I think the space is well suited to our lifestyle. It is a perfect space for conversation or to curl up and read a book. After dinner parties we generally circulate into the space for after dinner drinks and dessert. I still need to change out the previous drapery. It is not my style. It does match to some degree so it has been a little farther down on my to do list. I'll get them done, hopefully this year. Enjoy and thanks for looking!, Living Rooms Design

  • Gracious, beautiful dining room, Our dining rooms plays perfectly off of our formal living space. It is a mix of formal and casual, which fits our lifestyle. I have many pieces that I love in our space. My furniture is more on the casual side. It is paired with a perfect chandelier, beautiful artwork, and a stunning rug which ties the room all together. The drapery in the room came with the home. I intend to change it out later this year. It has worked and blends in with the space.   • My Finally Finished Master Bedroom!, This is my favorite room in my very small house. My husband has put in new closets molding windows trim entry and bathroom doors and blinds. We have painted (Benjamin Moore Decatur Buff on walls and Seashell on trim.) We added new furniture bedding and window treatments. It was a space we created when we got married last September!   • Unfinished Master- need help with tray ceiling!, Botanical master bedroom. "Green Tea Leaves" wall color silk drapes and pillows Pottery Barn floral duvet. Upon painting I immediately wanted to repaint since I felt the color was too dark and didn't match our original bedding. I updated the bedding instead to incorporate the colors in the space.   • Tray ceiling ideas?, This is our newly remodeled family room formerly two stories tall. We added rooms upstairs and now we have this new double tray ceiling in the family room. I love the wall color (Dulux Thyme) but I can't decide what to do with the tray ceiling. I'd rather not use white if I don't have to. Any ideas?   • Crowning Glory, Very neglected 1963 ranch goes from rags to riches. Missed my 9 ft ceilings after having to down size, and still wanted the height and the WOW factor. Struggled with the epense of my tray ceilings, but I'm glad I did. Also duing renovations it was suggested to center fireplace on living room wall in stead of it leaving at the end of the wall. But when I opened up the far wall for the dining room it felt centered between the two rooms. Replaced masonary fireplace with gas insert. Curved the hearth to take off the sharp corner leading to hallway. With mantel height so high, I struggled to find a painting to go over fireplace that had enough presence for the open space, so decided on the round mirror and sconces. Dining room enjoys the same tray ceilings and the dining room set was a find on Craigslist. I just added the parsons chairs., Living Rooms Design
