Our dining rooms plays perfectly off of our formal living space. It is a mix of formal and casual, which fits our lifestyle. I have many pieces that I love in our space. My furniture is more on the casual side. It is paired with a perfect chandelier, beautiful artwork, and a stunning rug which ties the room all together. The drapery in the room came with the home. I intend to change it out later this year. It has worked and blends in with the space. The color pallet in the space is very relaxing and makes for enjoyable dinner parties. Enjoy and thanks for viewing!

Botanical master bedroom. "Green Tea Leaves" wall color silk drapes and pillows Pottery Barn floral duvet. Upon painting I immediately wanted to repaint since I felt the color was too dark and didn't match our original bedding. I updated the bedding instead to incorporate the colors in the space. Now I have the enormous tray ceiling to tackle and am not sure how to paint the angles or what color(s.

This is the room that would typically be called the formal living room. We are casual and have young children. I think the space is well suited to our lifestyle. It is a perfect space for conversation or to curl up and read a book. After dinner parties we generally circulate into the space for after dinner drinks and dessert. I still need to change out the previous drapery. It is not my style. It does match to some degree so it has been a little farther down on my to do list. I'll get them done, hopefully this year. Enjoy and thanks for looking!

We painted my dining room about 4 years ago this tropical green. Now years later we want to paint the tray ceiling. This is what we have so far - a medium brown. Should the flat "ceiling" parts be painted the same brown or a lighter shade of tan? Remember we don't have any more of the green. I could try to match it up if I really need the green to paint over the brown. Thanks for your help!

For this DIY my wife picked the colors and my mind I did the hard work and we did the rest together. Now we can sit and look out our window (the view will be better once I re-skin the shed or the doors to the covered porch!!! We can also open the window and doors to bring the outside in. It's beautiful!!!!

This is a combo room that has been difficult to decorate. For now we've added simple panels until budget allows and we can find just the right drapery fabric, wood rods and bamboo blinds. It still doesn't look 'right' to me and I'm having a tough time with the tablescape...feedback is appreciated! What do you think of the ceiling we just did?

We bought this house in 2001 and have since renovated it twice, adding on this kitchen in 1995, but when hurricane Charlie took out our power for 10 days a few years ago, I lost all my incentive to renovate again! Help--cracks are appearing, and everything needs to be taken down to the bare bones. I want to do a design show house for HGTV the RIGHT way! and this room is at the heart of the house.

The bedroom was damaged during Hurricane Ike. It has been repainted and the old carpet floors were replaced with tile. The problem is that I want to pick a color to replace the brown segment of the partial tray ceiling. The brown is the same color that is in the adjoining master bathroom. I need a suggestion for a color. I pretty much have a blank slate to decorate the room. I like the blue, so I don't want to change it.

My living room is painted in a medium blue gray with the ceilings a light blue. It's open to a dining room that differentiated with striping that pulls colors from adjacent rooms and the celing. I am having problems with the layout of the living room due to furniture size, the TV wall, and dining area. There is a lot of open space between the living and dining areas plus the size of the TV wall makes the furniture feel like it's positioned awkward even pushed up against the wall to maximze space.

We recently bought our home but have not been able to decide what to do with our Master BR. We have great architecture in there, with an arched wall inset for the bed to sit against and tray ceilings (which we think would look great as a coffered ceiling but are not sure how to execute that idea. The bedspread on there is blue, but I would like to paint the room something other than blue. (The main living space of our home is already a very soft blue, so I don't want blue-overload. In one side of the room, our TV sits on a stand (we plan to mount it on the wall after painting, but on the other side of the wall we just have an empty space. This room has so much potential but is plain and empty right now.
