This is a work in progress. I will update pictures once it is finished! This room is for an almost 2 year old boy and we are *thinking* of doing a Nautical theme. Ideas welcome! We are putting a white chair rail around the center. That awful shade will be gone as soon as I decide on window treatments. And of course I'll be adding a nice rug wall hangings and bedding.

In anticipation of his baby sister's moving into the nursery, we created a big-boy bedroom for my son using colorful patterns and whimsical details. Some of the items moved with him from the nursery; others were thrifted; others were purchased new and one iconic feature, a reverse-stenciled dresser, was DIYed. The best feature of this room is that in addition to everything being toddler/preschooler accessible the design is both fun for a little boy and beautiful for his parents.

This room was put together over the course of a year and with a very small budget (less than $800 total. Every inch of the room was painted during my pregnancy with my third child. The furniture was reused from our son's nursery, Craigslisted, or diy-ed. If there was anything that could be reused, refashioned, re-imagined, it was. This tiny 8.5' x 11' was a labor of love. Our daughter enjoys her room very much and most things are just her size. You can see more of this transformation at the blog, DecorumDIYer.wordpress.com : http://wp.me/p12yAb-wO

Car and Sports theme mixed together with blue and red walls. Also when you have a 2 year old you gotta hang things high so that he won't be able to reach it!

A new bedroom design for our Two (2 year old daughter. We wanted her new room to be fun modern somewhat contemporary and not have to be re-done until she's about 8 - 10.. so we purposly didn't do a "themed" room. Primary colors in here are Hot Pink Aqua Blue and a brighter Sage green

I incorporated polka dots with Dora The Explorer Theme. Doubt that I am completely done as I still have some finishing touches but for the most part I think I am.

Started with pink w/white polka dot ottoman, a black pleather chair and a white bed. I had to make it all match somehow, and Minnie Mouse worked great.

The inspiration for this room came from a picture on pottery barns website about a speedboat bed. The price if the bed was ridiculous and I knew I could make one just as nice if not nicer so i set out to create the ultimate nautical boys room. The bed is hand made by me with fully functioning bow lights, lighted compass, water temp gauge, and amperes gauge. 2 walls are upholstered in stained pine 1X2 to create a yacht type feel. Grey laminate floors, all stained pine trim and hand painted door. Closet door handles are old paddles I had in the garage cleaned up and clear coated. Ceiling fan is from Hunter Fans and has actual sail cloth fan blades. The mural on the wall was designed and hand painted by me, it is the area of the St. Lawrence river in which we live. The room took several months to complete but my little man loves it and the smile it brings to his face made it all worth while....

I created this space for my 2-year-old son who was moving out of his nursery. His passion is for tractors so I wanted a nice looking farm room that wasn't overly John Deere themed. I hired a muralist to paint the walls (scenes inspired by a baby quilt my BFF made my wonderful uncle built the barn desk/bookcase and I found a cute quilt to match.

This is a play room we decorated for our 2 year old daughter. I love the color, trees, and butterflies. I am struggling with the dresser in the room. I can not decide if I want to keep it or replace it with a bookcase.
