This is a picture of my living room. I tried my best to decorate it given our limited living surface. It lacks lighting and the fire place, we feel, is in an awkward space.

We recently painted our dining room and bought furniture, but we need help decorating. Any ideas on how to make our dining room look classic and welcoming?

We haven't done much in here except paint the walls a neutral beige color. I would love some color inspiration... I tend to lean towards "safe" colors, and feel stumped with this living room. With our dark wood trim and our brown and beige furnishings I have no idea what color would look good on the walls. Any suggestions???

Medium-sized, simple, boring kitchen with exposed faux-brick and far too much pink! The counters, cabinets, linoleum floor and curtains all have pink tones. Even the ceiling is white with a pinkish tone! We tried painting the wall that connects to the family room a tan color, but it just seemed to bring out the pink-taupe colors. The stove and microwave are dated, and we are using the former owners old TV stand as a kitchen island--which is too small and too low with a one-year-old in the house. The breakfast bar overlooks the family room. There's also a nice window looking out onto the backyard.

The before and afters of our dining room...we knocked down the wall to the kitchen to make the space more open. We replaced the previous owner's carpet with dark walnut hardwood throughout. We also replaced his dining room table with a modern glass and slate beauty. We painted a chocolate brown accent wall behind the table, but haven't narrowed down how to decorate it yet...any suggestions would be welcomed and appreciated!

I'm moving into a new apartment (after getting married on June 6th! Woohoo!! and need help choosing a wall color for the living room. We're interested in creating a mono-chromatic contemporary color space. Names & brands of paint would be great...and references to specific rooms on ratemyspace that have possible color options would be fabulous! :

In the 1949 house there is a white-bricked kitchen with good windows lots of light. All of the house will be done in this taupe color (Pratt & Lambert's Edmund's Beige and shades of taupe red black and white will prevail. In the kitchen is a small breakfast nook - this is it!

tiny galley style kitchen with very little counter space, old school dishwasher, which is taped closed, oversized fridge, bad flooring, and brown paint-chipped cupboards with blue inside! None of my appliances are the same color- would love to remodel it, but with my husband in school and working two jobs just to pay bills, money for remodeling, just isn't there Help!-sorry- some pictures are sideways-but it wouldn't let me rotate them-- The kitchen feels so closed off when you are in it, I would love the kitchen to open up to the living-dining room area with a bar to add more counter space and an open feel

This is my first home. The design of the house with the arches and vaulted ceilings spoke to the style of decor I chose. I am not a seamstress, but I did make the draperies. I have a few more ideas for the room. I am considering a deep taupe faux finish for the walls, hardwood floors. It is still a work in progress.

The living room is large but had an unremarkable fireplace old sculptured carpet one white-paneled wall bare (but good-sized windows. I tore out the old tile around the fireplace created a fool-the-eye larger tiled area painted (Pratt & Lambert's Edmund's beige and made draperies. Still to go under the draperies are woven wood blinds (Target. Later the carpeting will be removed and I will sand and stain the floors in a dark mahogany.
