Wanting to keep the flavor of our little vintage 1940's kitchen while bringing it into the new millennium, we refurbished the original cabinets with their wonderful period details and constructed some new ones to match which accommodate new commercial-grade appliances. We added soapstone counters, a farmhouse-style sink, a subway tile back splash and a true linoleum, non-vinyl, floor in keeping with the period. The window seat is also original to the room and the pale robins egg blue color on the ceiling is one of my favorite features.

I renovated my 1976 old, ugly, and small (8 1/2' X 6' bathroom with pink walls, tub, and sink and transformed it into a comfortable and inviting hotel spa bathroom that is the envy of my entire condominium building--all for $10,000 (but it looks like I paid more!.

A small single sink, avocado green tiled bathroom was transformed into a more contemporary functional space. The existing cast iron tub was the only item spared. The tub only functioned as a tub, so we plumbed a shower for the tub. Also, we added an additional sink. Adding a pocket door gave us the ability to add a small storage closet behind the shower. A new cabinet was placed over the toilet along with recessed medicine cabinets for additional storage space. We vented the bath and since there is no window in the bathroom, we added recessed lighting and wall sconces.

The number one priority in our recent home remodel was to reconfigure the laundry room and powder room areas. Our contractor reversed the two adjoining spaces to enter into the powder room first, with a pocket door leading into the laundry room. No more stumbling over laundry baskets on your way to the bathroom! The new laundry space includes elevated front load washer and dryer, Silestone Lyra quartz countertop, white subway tile backsplash, and Marmoleum flooring with inlay that is continuous between the two spaces. To further the vintage look of the powder room, we repeated the use of Silestone Lyra, which looks like classic marble, for the countertop. We designed a curved backsplash and added a cross handle faucet to enhance the classic vintage look of the vanity piece. Sconces were repeated on either side of the oval mirror.

My husband and I revamped our outdated 90's country traditional master bathroom to a traditional and contemporary spa-like design. I designed the space and my husband did all of the work himself.

This was a very boring tract house kitchen that I remodeled. I had the existing natural maple cabinets painted and distressed. We also removed a built in desk so that the homeowner could fit her treasured green hutch that was acquired for her previous home into the space. We had granite counters, stainless steel appliances and subway tile backsplash added. Also, new lighting and paint. Floors were refinished in an ebony stain. Furniture and window treatments are from the previous home I designed for her. The original island was removed and replaced with this custom piece.

A horrible yellow bathroom with fluorescent lighting & vinyl EVERYTHING was the first room to go when we moved in to our new house. After completely gutting the whole space, we added a solartube skylight, a gorgeous cast iron tub and a pedestal sink with matching toilet. We laid subway tile in the shower and hexagonal tile on the floor and put a yellow accent line in both. We love our new bathroom!

This space was transformed from a laundry room to a very fun modern and unique guest bathroom. Because I took a huge risk by using a variety of textures and finishes that aren't typically used together I consider this one of my most complex and well thoughtout designs! My friends that looked at me like I was nuts when I showed them my plans are now asking for help with their projects-I am very happy I stuck with my gut on this one. I relocated my laundry facilities into a hallway closet space. See my other uploads-the new laundry closet turned out better than I could have ever expected.

For under 750 dollars we took our dated 90's kitchen from drab to fab! With a little sweat, careful planning, creativity and patience, we now have a kitchen we can be proud of.

After my mom's house burnt down in a wildfire, we were able to create a space from scratch. These pictures were taken before she moved in and with a small attempt to "stage" the room. This bathroom is almost big enough to be handicap accesible. The simple color scheme lends itself to be flexible enough to fit any color or style of accessories. She alternates between purple (her fav and red (which looks striking in that room.

If you are going for that classic look, 3"x6" subway tile is the way to go. You can dress it up by adding mosaic accents, chair rails, or get the beveled or pillowed subway.
