  • English Country Cottage Christmas Decorations in Virginia, Our newly built English style cottage in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains reflects our love of the architecture of my husband's homeland. I designed the home around a 16th century Welsh timberframe we imported from the UK, and fully outfitted the house with British architectural antiques, including 17th century oak panelling and a Victorian staircase. Here, we've decorated for the holidays in traditional English style. Hope you enjoy!, Holidays Design

  • Cottage revamp, We bought this house a couple of months ago. Very romantic story. A older couple lived here for 50 yrs. She passed on and he never came back to the house so it stayed empty for 7 yrs. It sold several times but the hubby would back out at the last minute. Couldn't stand to part with the house. I feel very lucky to be the one to have this diamond in the rough., Home Exterior Design

It is still a work in progress but I feel it has some personality now. The backyard is only in it's second season so it still a little sparse. I will post more pix of the inside soon. • Help Turn New House Into Home!, My living room needs help! We just moved in and I can't figure out how to design it. I want it to be happy and inviting but stick mostly with neutrals but right now it is kind of bland. I know it needs some color somewhere. I'm thinking about going with a neutral butter-cream type color on the walls, or at least as an accent wall in the kitchen and maybe wall where piano is. Need help with window coverings, wall decor above piano, fireplace decor. Furniture arrangement, really all of it! I really appreciate any help or suggestions!, Living Rooms Design

  • Brooklyn Secret Garden, I've been working on my backyard space since 2011, replacing overgrown weeds and invasive ivy, and cycling out found furniture for more sturdy pieces. Over time I've added a small stone wall-enclosed planter, compost bin, cold frame, raised beds, a bench and table I constructed. It's surely a labor of love. , Gardens Design

  • Lakeside cottage, Cottage garden. Patio and walks were plain concrete -- created a "faux" flag stone with concrete stain. All gardens were created by using the "lasagna" gardening technique -- all ideas are the compliments of info I've found on the HGTV website! All the info I've received from the show and message boards helped me have a fabulous home on a "beer" budget!, Gardens Design
