  • Neopolitan Boudoir, This is my master bedroom which I transformed from an ugly shade of rusty red clay orange into a luxurious pink and brown paradise. The ceilings were vaulted with a ceiling fan hanging. I draped Pink and Brown satin from the ceiling up into a fabric chandelier. I used chocolate brown and carnation pink paint and added touches of cream using furniture and chairs to finish the Neopolitan inspired look.I recently added a brown satin coverlet set to complete the bedding, Bedrooms Design

  • Speechless Sunroom - Needs a lot of work, Our sunroom is a space that we have not had time or money to work on yet. We have a great view of the Rocky Mountains and would like to open this sunroom up to our main front room, replace all of the windows, and add double doors. We would also love to expand the sunroom by 10 more additional feet to make it into a game room with a pool table and other games. However, we do not have the money to do this kind of expansion, so if you have any suggestions for the current size that would be great., Patios & Decks Design

  • 800 Pound Gorilla, Our living room is on the larger size with an open cathedral ceiling. The room is sunken two feet lower than the rest of the house. The walls and ceiling are natural cedar, with one area of painted drywall. My husband got a large plasma TV for Christmas and it is now the 800 pound gorilla in our space. I would call the design/style of this space "country cabin clutter". I've recently rearranged the furniture to "try" making it cozier. Not sure that I hit the mark. I would love a cleaner, brighter look to the room, with built-in cabinets on each side of the fireplace and textured (hand-cut feel) real hardwood floors. I love retro-contemporary with outdoor colors (garden sage green, robin egg blue, sea glass green & blue, autumn leaves). , Living Rooms Design

  • Family Room with Cathedral Ceiling, This family room is very hard to decorate. One wall is full of french doors and two transoms. The other wall has a fireplace and a window on each side. The only wall for furniture does have a view of the deck and backyard. I would welcome any ideas you may for this room and especially what curtains to put on the french doors to block out light., Living Rooms Design

  • Kitchen pantry is in the water heater closet & the window looks into the basement access closet, My kitchen is about 150 sq. ft. and when I first bought this house 5 years ago- it was scary- I've put in new floors, painted cabinets, I had a problem with my new wouldn't fit in space - so I got the circular saw out & took out a cabinet & shelves- oh, and I had to knock out a few tiles to squeeze fridge in. I have wanted to also knock out the top cabinets so that I could put in an island and maybe open up the kitchen into family room. I have a window that looks into a closet- the previous owner didn't replace with drywall when he did remodeling- and it's still there. I would also love new tile or granite or concrete counter tops...ooooh some day., Kitchens Design

  • Theater, This unfinished area was converted into a theater. It has a 100in screen and a custom built-in ( made out sheets of MDF ) in the original door location that was moved to the other side of the room. The carpet is a commercial plush glue down that feels like it has padding under it. The Speakers are hidden in the columns behind custom made speaker grils. The projector has its own cabinet with a curved front side. The ceiling is a coffered-tray, all the walls are a little over 1in thick to help sound deaden the area. The door was trimmed 2in to allow it to work in its new locations which happens to be at the bottom of the first floor stairway landing. Once the platform was built for he second row of seating, everything lined up perfectly. The lights are controlled by 3 remote dimmers. The screen retracts back into the ceiling and neatly tucks away. All the componets are hidden behind custom made cabinet doors that have Speaker grill cloth sandwiched between two routed pcs of MDF, to allow the equipment to breath. 98% of This project was drawn up, designed, and built by one person from start to finish. This project ran about 8 weeks. , Basements Design

  • Easy Victorian Ceiling Solution!!!, I finally got the ceiling finished in my master bedroom. I had to find an inexpensive solution to the ugly popcorn drop ceiling tiles, so I went with 2x2 tiles from made by Ceilume. I was able to use the existing grid. The tiles were only $4.95 each. Along with the new medallion I was able to get a new ceiling for under $200!!!, Bedrooms Design
