  • Kitchen Re-Accessorized, Thanks everyone for all of your comments! I took your advice :-D and added better & more accossories all in a bright white to hopefully lighten up the space!   • Goodbye wallpaper... hello backsplash!, I want to change the color of the cabinets (see my bath) from pecan stain to a warm brown. What do you think? I also want to replace the travertine tile on the floor and put in a darker ceramic tile that looks like travertine. I know... Travertine is too high maintenance… we have it throughout the house and it’s very hard to keep clean because it’s porous. You have to seal it often and it cracks easily and opens up big holes. , Kitchens Design

  • Need HELP choosing Granite Slab for my kitchen. Slab pics posted., Plan to install granite countertops this week. I would also like to install a matching stainles 60/40 split sink. Faucets TBD. Backsplash I am thinking a tumbled subway marble. Any ideas there? We'll be painting this entry floor with neutral browns and white trim. Hardwoods in dining room will remain dark. Kitchen floor I am thinking will change to either a nice tan color travertine or slate. Any suggestions for the granite backsplash paint color faucets or flooring? Thanks! , Kitchens Design

  • Kitchen arises from the dead, We took a 1978 kitchen overdone in pink coral Formica countertops and linoleum by the previous owner, a Mary Kay devotee, and transformed it into a pleasing, functional kitchen. What had been a compartmentalized room separated from adjacent areas was converted into an a spacious open-floor downstairs We have previously posted our remodeling results for two bathrooms and a dining room, and, finally, our kitchen. While our remodeling was not a $100,000 make-over, we are very happy with how everything turned out. I didn't do the faux finish myself but have to say it was a fraction of the cost of replacing cabinetry! I also had my spiral staircase and fireplace surrounds finished too.
