  • Grass Substitute, We tried getting grass to grow by laying sod twice using grass plugs then trying seed.  Couldn't get it to grow -- too much shade from roses and Texas pecan trees.  Decided to plant a fountain instead.  Cool place to be in Texas heat!, Gardens Design

  • Battle with the Squirrel, I put a makeshift bird feeder just to try it last summer..basically a pot dish in a plastic pot filled with bird seed and hung from the shepherd's hook in the patio..It worked so well I just left it..after all it cost no extra..It was made from what I had on hand., Patios & Decks Design
