I wanted this design to have a touch of NW contemporary and use many neutral colors and materials while having a few splashes of color. The feature wall with dry stack ledgestone houses the Montigo "widescreen" ribbon flame fireplace. The flat panel TV is attached to a custom cabinet door that swings open for additional storage behind. I've always liked "cozy" reading areas and the fireplace offers 2 nooks to read a book and have views through the windows.

this is my older's daughter's room(unfinished. Her bed is on top of the closet space. Within the closet is the door to the bathroom. The window seat needs to be upholstered and will add some colorful cushions. There are drawers both under the seat and in the bottom 3 steps leading up.

I painted our laundry room/ entrance area in 6175 Sagey by SW. I need ideas on how to use this tiny room with space saving ideas. A way to hide the electrical box would be nice. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated. The laundry area leads into the kitchen so my plan is to paint the kitchen with the same green color. I put this in the Kitchen section because there isn't a Laundry room area!

This space was completely white and very boring. It is shared by twin girls (5 years. I painted the horses to add some fun and although they are far from perfect- the girls love them!

Pastel colorblocked wall (subtle stimulation 3 contrasting walls done in the same green (but half-cut resulting in a softer shade in the same hue. Colors were matched to fabric. (A waffle weave textured polyester cotton. All painting and sewn accessories were done by myself. It is a tiny room and very serene. Floating shevles and a small accent carpet has since been added. (March 25th/08 -I have left this room up for reference of a 'color-blocked wall'.

Our home restoration began with an apartment 'under' the house. After a lot of hard work change of floor plan great materials and color it just doesn't seem fit to call it anything less than a home. See the other rooms too!

Tiny kitchen in need of a serious update! We're on a very small budget which is limiting our options. We need suggestions that are going to make huge differences but not in the wallet.

This is a do it yourself project. The front loading washer and dryer made it possible to use the wasted space used for the vents of the dryer. The huge folding table cut the clutter my kitchen and gave me room to fold. The built in sink made room to hide the Laundry baskets and garbage.

This is going to be a long work in progress! My husband and I recently purchased a rustic mountain cabin. The kitchen is TINY! But I believe once it's finished and organized, it'll be great. This space has a tongue and grove pine cathedral ceiling and is extremely open. As you can see, it also has paneling. We aren't crazy about the paneling, but it will have to do...at least for now. I am going to paint the paneling downstairs (not yet posted to lighten it up. The flooring in the kitchen will eventually be replaced with pine planks. At the moment, it has 1975 linoleum that has black duct tape in the center. The dishwasher didn't work and I chose to not replace it do to lack of cabinet space. (We shall see if that lasts! There is also a pendant light which I refer to as a gypsy tea room light (no offense to anyone! that will be replaced by a lighted pot rack. A huge ugly awning hung over the range hood and fridge that took up 1/2 of the visual space. My wonderful hubby and his father removed it and I removed 35 years of grunge from the range hood. The Harvest Gold stove was original to the house and there was a rather small fridge. The cabinetry under the window is not in keeping with the house...It will be distressed and stained dark and have faux feet added and the broom closet/pantry will have Ice Box hardware! I have plans for this space but definitely welcome any suggestions!

Our hall bath, which has the only useable shower in the house, was in desparate need of a makeover,
Thirty years of use with no updates, tile in shower cracked and missing grout. Sink about to fall off the wall.
The new bath has new ceramic tile floor, new sink, new space-saving toilet, and a wonderful new low-maintenance shower by Re-Bath.

This is the kitchen in the "new" condo in Charleston, SC. The condo was built in 1986 and never updated. Cutting out the wall between kitchen and living area at 43" bar height and creating a washer and dryer wet bar were the only structural changes.

I have a very limited budget as well as very limited space. I needed to be creative with both so I purchased inexpensive shelves at Thrift stores, painted them all white and attached them on the wall next to my bed instead of the usual nightstands. Now I have a place to charge my cell phone, put my book and reading glasses.
