We are in the middle of remodeling our small master bathroom. It is about 10 by 5 feet. We will be replacing the tub/shower with a walk in & tiled shower, getting a whole new vanity, installing recessed lighting and re-texturing/painting all the walls. I don't know if I've left anything out but I hope you enjoy the transformation!

My master bath is a little on the small side, but because (like most of my redo's I really couldn't add onto the house I had to make do with what I had. I will admit there were a few "lessons learned" on this job-as far as time and cost are concerned, but I am extremely happy with the use of space. It is just as comfortable, and just as luxurious as most hotels which was my primary goal with this project.

The To Be the entry way/mud room in to house from driveway extending into the To Be master suite and laundry room. The entire downstairs floor is covered in that old school tile floor .It is dirty no matter how often I scrub it and we have to run a dehumidifier year round. The master suite is a blank slate- but the 1980's small bathroom needs help -no tub or shower and is too small. The downstair spaces are unfinished because we have NO idea how or what to do-WE NEED HELP!

I had a small bath enclosure that I wanted to make into a whirlpool tub/shower. I also wanted to redo the outer sink and cabinet area. I only had $4000 to do it with. Check it out.

This bathroom is part of our master bedroom separated by bi-folding doors. It measures a narrow 4 1/2 feet wide by 13 feet long. We did a low cost remodel about 6 years ago to get rid of hideous 1960s marble vanity that only had one sink and peach colored walls. HIDEOUS. Yes. We installed a new vanity with double sinks and the tall be to get rid of the1960s tile flooring in the toilet/shower area which is embedded in concrete and update the tile in the walk in shower. Sure, we would love to update with a spa like retreat but we are very limited on space and money so nothing can be moved or replumbed.

Our new house had bathrooms older then dirt. The upstairs bath presented a particular challenge, complete with low ceiling and crooked walls.
All was gutted. Installed were new tile (wall - white subway and floor - textured semi-gloss ceramic, new glass backsplash, new vanity, toilet and brushed nickel fixtures.
We used a pallet of dusty blue, cotton white, espresso and black for a crisp winter morning feel.
All is ready but the swing shower glass for the bathtub.

After the Cedar Fire damaged our masterbath space in 2003 we reconstructed the space. Wish I had some BEFORE pictures to show the big change to this now Italian Tuscan Valley Spa Suite!

We removed the garden tub to create a large walk in shower with no door. Travertine tiles help to create the relaxed spa retreat. New cabinets from Ikea were a bonus and very affordable. All polished nickle fixtures add just the right amount of shine.

We enlarged this bathroom to accommodate a custom shower, tub sink and vanity and an open water closet. The shower was the inspiration, starting with the floor. We collected beach and river stones from our travels from Cape Cod, to Maine to New Brunswick, Canada. We used a combination of standard materials and custom built materials. The walls and ceiling are painted the same to expand the space, and the radiant floor heating warms your feet like walking on the sand at the beach on a summer's day.

"Go big." That was our motto when we got rid of the moldy old shower stall and put in an open, doorless shower that is wide open, fully tiled and a snap to keep clean.View more details at http://www.picklesandwine.com/?p=99
