  • Old Fashion Vestibule With Park Influence, We recreated our 100 year old building to retain neighborhood flavor. • Laundry hallway closet, I recently completed a pretty indepth upstairs renovation. We transformed a laundry room into a guest bath and a bonus room into 2 bedrooms. My biggest obstacle was what to do with my laundry room. The result was really the only option I could think of that made sense...I moved the washer and dryer into a hallway closet. The key to the function of this design was the sliding glass doors that I found online at the Sliding Glass Door Co. and the custom shelves from local organization company. Without them I would have been stuck with tiny, cramped area full of wasted space with typical ugly bi-fold doors. , Closets & Utility Design

  • Candice Olson Inspired Kitchen, This contemporary kitchen was inspired by a Candice Olson design. There is a light and airy feel to this space because it opens up to the dining room but it also has 2 french doors that open up to a beautiful deck that adds living space outdoors. The wall colour is a Sarah Richardson colour by Para and the cabinets are Ikea. The two granite choices add interest to the space by complimenting the white and dark wood cabinets. This budget conscious kitchen is high on style even though it is low on cost. , Kitchens Design

  • Master Bathroom with a View, We recently (finally) renovated / remodeled our master bathroom that had been sitting gutted since the day we bought our house - over 3 1/2 years ago. We finally were able to borrow the lump sum needed to do this massive makeover. The issue with the original bathroom - other than the fact that it was super dated (green wallpaper) and yucky, was that the main drain was cracked and water was leaking to the floor below - into the walls and down to the floor. This is a second story bathroom and below it is the kitchen and dining room. Sadly the previous tenant was using the bathroom even with the broken drain pipes which had caused mold in the walls which we had to get professionally cleaned! Anyway, all that's in the past now and we have a fabulous modern (but comfortable) master bathroom that feels like an expensive hotel / spa and it even has a view of the bay and golden gate bridge!

feel free to follow our blog for the rest of our adventures in home makeover here - http://fixerwithaview.wordpress.com - we even have a blog section about how we almost got onto HGTV's curb appeal - shot the reveal and everything before our project was cancelled., Bathrooms Design

  • My Halfway done Country French Kitchen, It is a mix of reds and yellows. Waverly provided the perfect curtains for all the windows. The french doors makes my space look "cottagy" and provide for tons of light. I like the buttermilk color on the walls, the legs of the DR table motivated me to start with that color. I like the rooster theme also, but stopped at the few plates and the one picture on the wall. I need to do something else, I do not know how to complete the look. There is something missing., Kitchens Design

  • Open Entertainer's Kitchen, The walls just had to come down for this 70's kitchen to come in to the modern world!! We were able to reuse & move the existing hardwood cabinets, plus add gorgeous granite countertops, amazing clean steal appliances & hardworking laminate wood floors to make this an Entertainer's Kitchen dream! The front panels of the island are 100 year old 2" solid oak pocket doors turned on their side with original hardware still in tack. Our contractor friend added the pillar moldings that I designed & installed the gorgeous glass & stone backsplash! Large Edison Light pendants & a modern crystal chandelier are the jewels atop of this girls dream kitchen!!, Kitchens Design

  • "WOW!" Kitchen, Art Deco inspired contemporary 300 sq ft custom kitchen. We built this kitchen addition and dining room renovation on weekends w/ the help of our friend and professional contractor. It took a long time but it was worth saving about 40K on labor. The cabinets are maple shaker style....base cabinets are charcoal and snow drift top cabinets accented w/ irridescent glass tile backsplash over sink area. Marina pearl granite 10' 3" x 54" tops the snow drift island w/ prep sink, microwave & hidden trash. 17' stretch of counter consists of 6 burner cook top w/ red tiffany glass backsplash and charcoal butler's pantry has glass door upper cabinets. Floor is Italian 16" x 24" porcelain grey w/ random cream tiles in a staggered subway tile layout. The window over sink is 6 feet wide. Full glass side door and 6 foot sliding door to yard bring in lots of natural light. When it snows, you feel like you are standing in a snow globe because of the room shape and windows! Check out our space and let us know if it has the 'wow' factor! Enjoy!, Kitchens Design

  • Guest bath with Bling!, This space was transformed from a laundry room to a very fun modern and unique guest bathroom. Because I took a huge risk by using a variety of textures and finishes that aren't typically used together I consider this one of my most complex and well thoughtout designs! My friends that looked at me like I was nuts when I showed them my plans are now asking for help with their projects-I am very happy I stuck with my gut on this one. I relocated my laundry facilities into a hallway closet space. See my other uploads-the new laundry closet turned out better than I could have ever expected. , Bathrooms Design
