  • Master Bath, From a builder grade master bath. All chrome fixtures, mainly Hansgrohe Axor Massaud. Enormous 3-way showerhead and tub filler with shower wand.

Replaced the whirlpool tub with a Neptune Ruby 3666 airtub, to get rid of the gunk and slime that recirculates with a whirlpool (nasty things those are!). The area behind the tub is covered with slate stackstone, which winds around to make the backsplash. The slate is becoming more colorful by the day, as the sealer dries and/or evaporates.

Ceiling cans have been updated with Cree LR6 LED retrofits, using only 10.5 watts each, and they should last over 20 years.

We took the old mirror to a frame shop, where they cut it down into two pieces and put it into the frames we had selected. This let us get exactly the size and look we wanted.

Not shown: dual-flush Toto Aquia III toilet., Bathrooms Design

  • Relaxing Retreat, We are currently renovating our master bathroom. When we moved in, it had one sink, an 80's shower, and everything was builder's grade. We are doing it ourselves and although it is taking a while, it will be well worth it. Be sure to follow the progress!, Bathrooms Design

  • Master bathroom rock wall!, 70's vintage lacquered rock and pink floral wall paper was chosen by my husband's parents when they owned the old house.
When remodeling the house hallway, they had enough space to also add another half bath to the master.
We would like to combine the two small bathrooms and make it into one large master bathroom.
Such a large project seems so overwhelming, any advise or ideas would be welcomed. , Bathrooms Design

  • Making the most out of a small bathroom, This bathroom is off our master bedroom. The vision was an Asian look. The "shoji" style of sliding door design was to eliminate a door swinging into the room. The giant 1'x2' tiles are horizontal to resemble painted wood and the ceramic floor tile looks like real wood. All the fixtures are wall mounted to save space. The shower wall is all glass and you feel you are in a larger space when in the bath room. The glass door slides on really cool Wilson Glass rollers. The medicine cabinet is custome built and uses inner wall space - it is deep! Two thirds of the mirror slides to the right. One third of the mirror opens as a door so there is always a mirror available. The Kohler Purist fixtures are brushed nickel. The shower is a Schluter/Kerdi shower kit and was a dream to install. The shower floor is round stone. We had thought to put a teak board platform over it, but it looks too good for that., Bathrooms Design

  • Small Bath Remodel , Our small narrow bathroom was in need of a serious remodeling. We gutted it and spent 8 months carefully putting it back together! We saw the wainscot idea and are so happy we used it. We like the contrast of the dark paint color and the white wainscot and white fixtures. We used chrome as the accent for towel bars tp holder light fixtures etc. Using a pedestal sink instead of a vanity give the illusion of more space in a very narrow bathroom. , Bathrooms Design

  • A Shower Window to be Showered, I used white exterior vinyl house trim rather than repeat a plan tiled window… adds architectural ambiance to be showered – lol - practically maintenance free… While here I did a total retiling vinyl trim (with a good tile adhesive) can be applied to any existing (cleaned) tile surface…. as was the case when I totally forgot to make my tile cut outs for soap & shampoo holders… the afterthought turned out even more ecstatically pleasing applying them atop the tile (last photo here)., Bathrooms Design
