  • Tannery loft, Artist's live/work studio, 1010 sq. ft., 2 bdrm. Ceiling approx 20 - 22 ft. Live/work area receives NE light from 10' windows (only natural light). Studio sits alongside the San Lorenzo River in Santa Cruz, Ca. Lovely with great potential. The common area, 14' x 44', includes the kitchen, dining, work and living space with an adjacent open space approx 16' x 16'. The work area needs to be separated from the living area and has specific lighting and functional needs including storage and exhibition. There is also a photography, printing studio and office area. Galley kitchen - needs island. No dining area at present. First bedroom as you enter studio opens to loft. Potential there for an entire suite. No sofa so just rocking. Sound echos. Pet and guest friendly. Along with cottage/shabby chic, funky, bohemian with a retro twist further describes taste. At present space is furnished with just necessities and some old favorites. Industrial setting. Desire intimacy and comfort as well as efficiency., Other Spaces Design

  • Living Room, We purchased a 130 year old shotgun house in New Orleans. It consisted of 5 15 x 15 rooms and no updates since about 1940. We opened up 2 rooms and created this space. The color is made by Behr Premium Plus (Egyptian Nile). Thanks for all the wonderful comments! PS. Ignore the disco ball it was left over from a party..., Living Rooms Design

  • Our Work-In-Progress Mediterranean Kitchen!, This is probably the room we've put the most work into. We live in a small shotgun house so you can see everything right when you walk in.. We found the kitchen table in pieces under a semi-truck in a junk yard and refinished it. Fixed and painted all the chairs. I hand tiled the backsplash. We built the concrete top island from left over materials. And so on.. We haven't gotten to the floor or cabinets or counter tops yet. And we don't have alot of choice with the layout! But I still love being in this room., Kitchens Design

  • RED HOT Open Kitchen & COSY Living Area, We experimented with the "potential 's extend of what we had to work with"!

How to make our new place our own - with what came with the house and wasn't our taste at all. Bringing out the best in what we would've never picked if we were given a choice!

Recycling, not only for the beneficial economical reasons but also for the many more reasons we've all become gradually more aware of lately, hopefully., Kitchens Design

  • LAS VEGAS TUSCAN INSPIRED KITCHEN WITH BEFORE PICS, We had a standard kitchen in our 5 year old house. We went with Durasupreme brand cabinets made of lyptus wood a chestnut finish and a charcoal glaze. The granite countertops are "carmel". The farm sink is a Kohler cast iron single bowl with a Kohler faucet. The stainless appliances are GE from their "Cafe" line. New floors are hardwood Millstone brand hickory butternut with a hand scraped finish. Wall color is Behr paint-Pumpkin Spice. Kudos to my wife & Lou from Kitchenland Las Vegas., Kitchens Design

  • Tiny Kitchen , The tile on the wall is yellow with maroon trim. The wall color was the best match. The floor tiles are old. This kitchen is very small and the cabinets are very old. It is hard for two people to work together because we keep bumping into each other. The way that it is set up the kitchen is very disconnected from the living room and most of the dining room. The door on the refrigerator when opened blocks the doorway into the kitchen. There is not enough counter space so there is a small table. , Kitchens Design

  • Kitchen Renovation, Dreary and Dark becomes Sunny and Bright, Welcome to my kitchen renovation…so glad you stopped by! The before picture says it all…dreary dark and stuck in the 80’s with the beige-colored formica counter tops and backsplash. You can’t see it in the photo but a previous homeowner had managed to badly melt the countertop in two spots. (LOL) Definitely time for a change! :-) Hope you enjoy the new look and I'd love for you to come visit and leave me a note at:, Kitchens Design
