  • All Hands Below Deck, This is a basement of some former neighbors. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this for myself. It looks unbelievably realistic, so much so, that I felt like I was swaying while inside. So much detail went into this, they started back in 1986 and haven't stopped working on it. Great attention has been paid to the smallest of details. This is by far the coolest and most unique basement I have seen, I really wanted to share it with everyone., Basements Design

  • Our Family Room renovation -- need help, This is a redo of our family room. We recently had the wainscoting custom made, painted the walls, and installed a new berber carpet. (Walls had been a cold white, before.) The fourth wall has stairs to the next level and two tall oak bookcases, with clocks and books in it. I need help figuring out what to do with the TV wall. The decor is slightly nautically inspired, because of my boat photos, a framed favorite nautical chart, and some cheap boat models. TV is not a big part of our life, but we will have to get a new TV soon -- and thus another kind of cabinet for it. , Living Rooms Design

  • My kitchen makes me laugh (not in a good way)!, We bought this house a year ago, and believe it or not, the kitchen looks better than it used to. We scraped popcorn ceiling, removed wallpaper and wallpaper border, took down a country plate rack. Now it's kind of boring except for the crazy posts that protrude from the kitchen island to the ceiling. They make me laugh...a "What were they thinking?!" laugh! What am I going to do with these? And the cabinets...I'd really like to use the space above the cabinets. Should we take out the bulkhead above the cabinets and put in new ones? , Kitchens Design
