  • Reed's Nursery Rhyme Nursery, This mural includes children's songs, fables, nursery rhymes, and tons of tiny critters and animals to keep a baby entertained. I created this nursery for my first born son Reed. I was 8 months pregnant when I began painting it. This was my favorite project because it was the first time I got to create a project for my own child. , Nurseries Design

  • Brielle's Fairy Garden Nursery, This Fairy Garden Nursery was created with love for my baby girl, Brielle. It included her Fairy Godmothers (my sisters - Auntie Shell and Auntie Sheri) hovering over her crib to guard and protect her. The many details were painted with the mindset of entertaining baby while giving mommy time for a few extra zzzzzz's. On the ceiling, the clouds included shapes like a teddy bear, the letter B, hearts and a bunny to name a few.....There were ladybugs and butterflies scattered throughout the room for her to find and point out.
This room also included a hand made custom chandelier, crib bedding and curtains. For the chandelier, I took an old black chandelier, painted it creme and added custom lampshades. I glued purple satin fabric onto the shades then hot glued on tiny purple flowers that matched the bedding and added a satin rope trim to the edges. To add to the garden theme, I hung fake greenery purchased from the floral department at the local craft store. I then topped it off by making a satin fabric sleeve and bunching it up to hide the chain the chandelier hung from. For the final touch, a Styrofoam medallion was attached to the ceiling at the base of the cord. , Nurseries Design

  • Clouds In My Coffee, My husband and I would really appreciate any feedback on this.

We are built, essentially, into a cliff so there is no traditional back yard. The outdoor space is constructed of three tiered decks, and a small gravelly area at the very bottom, with a fence surrounding it.

We have tackled the top deck first, putting in composite decking and staining the banisters white. We also stained banisters on the other decks white and put up fascia around the decks to clean up the appearance. I don't have updated pictures, and everything is under snow at the moment, but it looks great. We got a huge sectional for the top finished deck and a bar table with stools, and a grill. It all fits and looks good.

Here is where we need help. There is so MUCH deck space, we're unsure what to do with it all. You can only have so many seating areas after all. What do we do on those bottom two decks? Should we make the huge bottom deck a dance floor? We are serious. Bocce ball court? Help!

Finally, I am hoping to turn the bottom gravel pit into a little.....well, I don't know what. We plan to remove the ugly fence and build a stone wall. Beyond that, we're baffled. It's not an easy area to get to / maintain, so that is a consideration.

Thanks for your input and for reading this post., Patios & Decks Design

  • Dining In The Clouds, When the sun sets, the lights dim, and the City below twinkles, this is a dining room you want to be in. The room was once challenged with a structural column, but was later incorporated to actually help form a more intimate setting. It was created to function for both formal and informal dining. Whether there are six people or twenty six people the room functions beautifully and intimately., Dining Rooms Design

  • In the clouds, This room has evolved over time. It has a calm feeling and even though blue can be a very cold color the "yellow flicker" of the walls makes it feel warm. This room overlooks the treetops and with the blue of the sky you feel like the outdoors has come indoors. This is my first time posting and I hope you enjoy my space., Living Rooms Design

  • Calming Moons & Stars Baby Boy Nursery, We painted the walls 3 colors of shades from the same strip of samples from the store. Then faded the color down the wall. We made our own star "stamps" using wood cut outs hot glue & foam from the local craft store. Also applied Wallies found online. Painted the wooden rocking chair & the cupboards white. We LOVE how it turned out! I think the baby likes it too., Nurseries Design

  • New Kid in Town, My son and husband went out of town for a "guys trip." When they returned, my 3 year old found that I had transformed his boring builder's beige walls into his own little town. I painted the mural, built a car "slipcover" for his old bed frame, and created new curtains for him. This is now a room any little boy would love to call home., Boys' Rooms Design

  • Surf Girl Oasis, My little girl's room was inspired by the Pottery Barn Kids Island Surf bedding. The walls are pink with a wall mural of a cabana and beach scene that I painted on one wall. The other wall is a display wall for her pictures and special items like her soccer trophy! :) Plus, no surfer girl room would be complete without pics of Lilo and Stitch. Her desk and computer fit nicely into the little alcove in her room. Its the perfect study area for her as she grows. The ceiling is painted blue with white clouds and hidden in the clouds are glow in the dark stars painted with glow in the dark paint that is invisible during the day but glows beautiful at night. The ceiling fan is adorned with hibiscus flowers as is her side table and surf style garden lights act as a night light. She loves her room and it was a lot of fun designing it and making it for her! Enjoy!, Girls' Rooms Design
