Thought I'd post before and after pictures of my kitchen which underwent a complete remodel over 6 weeks. Our original kitchen had builder grade oak cabinets from the mid-90's. Nothing special. My new dream kitchen has natural cherry shaker cabinets with granite countertop. It features an island, peninsula, double ovens and warming drawer, 36" gas cooktop with chimney hood, and an undercounter beverage refrigerator.

Open airy great entertaining kitchen. Plenty of room for all to gather. Has an eat up bar, built-in pantry slides on each side of the kitchen, built-in pet dish, slide out trash next to sink, full extention drawers, plenty of cabinet space and Soapstone countertops.

Hello all you rmsers. This is my first renovation project that included ripping out a wall. Please let me know what you think of the transformation and also let me know what you think of the colour on the walls. . The counters are black granite with a silver sparkle to them. I love the flooring and I am partial to white cupboards because you can change the wall colour to whatever you feel like. From a Niagara falls canadian girl.

Original 1945 tiled kitchen with original cupboards new Shaker doors to match the doors in the house I found a 1930's light on E-bay for over the sink. It didn't have any cupboards over the stove so I had some built to match the existing design and I found a small cupboard at Target that went along with the Shaker style I just added matching hardware. I kept the original hole in the ceiling from the old stove vent as a conversation piece.

After 13 weeks of renovation, our entire first floor remodel is complete. The crowning glory is our new Shaker inspired kitchen. It features Plain & Fancy Natural Cherry inset cabinets on the perimeter and White Antique Distress on cherry cabinets for the island. The countertops are Blue in the Night antiqued granite. All appliances are Electrolux Icon in Stainless Steel including a 36" 5 burner gas cooktop with chimney hood, single wall oven, convection/microwave combo, and warming drawer. My dream kitchen was created by knocking out the wall between the kitchen and dining room. This allowed for the 8' island on the diagonal. We also replaced a small casement window with a 6' triple casement window over the sink.

Our family waited 15 years to erase the ugliness and dysfunction of the previous owners' kitchen. Along the way, we made feeble attempts at minor upgrading (painting, installing that pitiful border strip and a flawed ceramic floor. We realized, though, that we had to demo and gut the space, exorcize the seventies vibe, and make room for an up-to-date, divine space. Here are the results. (Oh, and sorry for the bicycle lock that you see hanging from the refrigerator. "Old habits die hard."
