In this 1980's bathroom the gray and beige tile was given an updated look through the application of a modern gray and beige botanical wallpaper. The upper cabinet doors were removed to create open shelving for display and all cabinetry was painted espresso brown. Ethnic art and accessories and a white all-cotton shag rag rug completed the transformation.

I fell in love with my mid-80s tri-level because of its unique living space. Instead of focusing on square footage, the design really utilizes cubic feet with high vaulted ceilings dominating the main level of the home. From the outside it's just another house in another suburban neighborhood, but inside it's nothing but.

Cozy bungalow living / family room. We have plenty of seating, storage and places to put up your feet and have a cup of tea, play a game, watch tv or just hang out.

This is our mostly empty living room. It's fairly large and has at the moment:
- 2 large chocolate brown reclining leather sofas
- a pub table and four chairs
- Cream colored slightly shaggy square area rug
- soon to be 50' flat screen and accompanying credenza (54' L x 22' W x 36' H
There is an extra space (you can see from the layout that I think an upright piano would fit nicely (we are musicians, but it'll be a while until we purchase a piano.
I'd love some suggestions for decor -- curtains/window panels; lighting; mirrors; ANYTHING! Maybe even a plant? Haha.
I'm leaning towards a color palate of -- chocolate/mocha browns with a range of khaki/tan/wheat hues with sage greens and crisp white accents (I have a vision of a white bowl with fake pears in it, lol!
I'd characterize our "style" (not like we have one yet as clean, natural, with maybe a little rustic (we like nice wood grains. I love the POTTERY BARN catalog, just not the price. :
Thanks for your time and advice everyone!

After requesting a single dorm room at SUNY Potsdam for my 2nd semester freshman year, I was lucky enough to get one! I went nuts with the freedom to decorate an entire room with my favorite colors: purple, green, and blue. The result is what follows!

This is our living room. Everyone thought I was nuts when I described it. I guess shag rug and zebra chair strikes fear in some! Still working on accessories, wall art and curtains, but we have been here for 90 days and this is as far as we've gotten.
I have been asked what blinds we used. I had 22 windows to do in our new house, so I went economic and bought a stock blind from Lowe's. These are more of a dark wood stain (almost has a red hue in the light. Don't let them talk you into "custom length" especially for roman shades - they roll toward the back so it doesn't matter. Hope that helps!

256 SF of big love in this tiny house. John Lennon and I share it well. Super comfortable, tons of storage, full kitchen with washer and dryer, and cozy bath - that's living - and the beautiful pool is just outside the french doors. But, I need a new sofa/convertible bed, help!

The rich hardwood and deeply painted baseboards anchor this bright room. Adjacent to the Splash Room the warm hue of the dining room is a surprisingly refreshing contrast to the cool aqua blue.

This small dining space can be converted to a sitting area just by using a drop leaf table and a set of contrasting chairs. A small pendant light and shag rug gives the space a contemporary feel against the brick backdrop.
