  • Budget Shabby Chic Foyer Makeover, When you walk in the front door of a home the first thing you see is the foyer. In my opinion the Foyer of a home sets the mood for the rest of the house, so it's important that your foyer reflects your decor style and sets the tone for how you want your home to feel. I will be the first to say that my foyer is not the most appealing aspect of my house, as it has low ceilings, a gaudy door bell box right in the center of the main wall and is so small that it feels like it's closing in on you. It didn't give a great first impression, that's for sure, so I wanted to brighten up the space to create a warm and inviting feel that welcomed you as you walked through the door. My favorite decorating style is shabby chic, so I decided to give my foyer a shabby chic makeover.

I didn't have a lot of money to spend so with the help of my husband I was able to give my foyer a total transformation for less than $700.

  • Before and After Roadside Find Table Makeover, I love working on old furniture and I knew I just had to rescue this old French Provincial table when I spotted it on the side of the road waiting for the trash man. I gave it a Shabby Chic inspired look with new soft blue paint, textured wallpaper, a white color wash to bring out the details and some vintage book pages. You can read more about this transformation on my blog at: http://www.lisascreativedesigns.com/lisascottageblog/2014/02/before-and-after-a-roadside-find-shabby-to-chic-table-makeover/, Bedrooms Design

  • Granny Apple Green/Black/Ivory French Country Bedroom to love, What I loved most about my bedroom when I first moved in was the great views of the trees outside surrounding my windows so I decided to keep the windows pretty viewable at all times and bring in the bright green from the outside in. I also liked the idea of making simple branch art in DIY lace mason jars and keeping plants such as a little spruce and some pink potted tea roses in the windows. I wanted to use a lot of natural elements. My walls and tile floors are beige and I accented with ivory trimming and white trimming. Black is my beau's favorite color so I wanted to incorporate that color with a rug, bed skirt, and smaller accents. I love the black with the bright green and beige. Of course my cats had to be in my pictures because really, they complete my room ! Anyway, hope you like my bedroom :), Bedrooms Design

  • Winter Shabby White slipcovered cottage chic, Updated one of my living rooms. The chill is in the air and I no longer wanted to see big roses. It's shabby yet chic with lots of black and white. I took away all the garden items that were pink. Repainted a cupboard from pink to white and am enjoying it's new look for a cooler season. **I just went back in to preview these photos are dark will update with better photos. thanks for looking.I love pretty things and unique things no matter where I find it curb, gar. sale, shop ect...it may sometimes get to be too much eye candy but it makes me smile and i like that. The toile looks busier in the pic than it looks in person...funny?..I think the real point is to get ideas and be inspired as i enjoy getting ideas from all of you. , Living Rooms Design

  • Fine Lake home "not" so fine! We need HELP with color., Our house needs a new look! What color should we paint the window trim, the decking, and handrail. The house needs some character with landscaping as well. Also looking for advise on decorating the deck with outdoor patio lights and furniture, ect. We feel that the house is too bland and it needs some character. We live in a house that is 1,600 sq. ft. on the main level, and 1,200 sq. ft. on the lower level. It has a light grey vinyl shake siding called "weathered white". The windows are trimmed out in cedar painted white. It has double hung white windows, and two white french doors facing the lake. The lakeside is considered the front. There is a front deck that wraps around to the back of the home and it is a grey Trex maintenance-free decking. The deck railing is cedar painted white with aluminum spindals. The gutter is 6 in., 1/2 round, galvalium. There is a detached garage with the same siding, trim, and gutter. There is no lanscaping to speak of. We are desparately needing advise on how to create a shabby chic look, that is fun, and inviting, but yet elegant. , Home Exterior Design
