  • Master Bathroom with a View, We recently (finally) renovated / remodeled our master bathroom that had been sitting gutted since the day we bought our house - over 3 1/2 years ago. We finally were able to borrow the lump sum needed to do this massive makeover. The issue with the original bathroom - other than the fact that it was super dated (green wallpaper) and yucky, was that the main drain was cracked and water was leaking to the floor below - into the walls and down to the floor. This is a second story bathroom and below it is the kitchen and dining room. Sadly the previous tenant was using the bathroom even with the broken drain pipes which had caused mold in the walls which we had to get professionally cleaned! Anyway, all that's in the past now and we have a fabulous modern (but comfortable) master bathroom that feels like an expensive hotel / spa and it even has a view of the bay and golden gate bridge!

feel free to follow our blog for the rest of our adventures in home makeover here - http://fixerwithaview.wordpress.com - we even have a blog section about how we almost got onto HGTV's curb appeal - shot the reveal and everything before our project was cancelled., Bathrooms Design

  • (BEFORE) Cozy contemporary getaway, We purchased our starter home two months ago, and as a design guru, I had a BLAST designing and decorating the rooms! This is the master bedroom, one of the rooms we painted, along with my daughter's room and office (please check them out as well). I stuck with black, white, and gray for the color scheme and it turned out very well!, Bedrooms Design

  • old world charm, A full renovation. Ceramic design tile in the tub area & below the marble chair rail. Matching marble on the windowsill & soap/shampoo holder in tub. I bought an old antique cabinet, cut the top off & put on granite w/a drop in sink. I used oil rubbed bronze fixtures throughout. I used a textured paint, purchased sconces, & a large mirror to continue w/the old world look., Bathrooms Design

I hope everyone takes a look cause i do value the imput. We repainted the inside of our home last week. This is still a work in progress. I am looking to find a few accent things with red tones to add some color and accesorize. Yellow was my least favorite color but i love it now. I wanted a cheery kitchen. , Kitchens Design

  • Small Bathroom , We had no room in this old bathroom which was in need of an update. It was like a tunnel when you entered. As you entered you walked by a built-in closet on the left, you couldn't reach the light switch until you were halfway in. The sink vanity was the 1980's style: took up valuable space of the room. The tub and curtain made you feel closed in even more, as if you were in a space of only 3'. The utility style door which offers no lighting goes out to the patio. It really needed a re-do. I was embarrassed for anyone to use this room. P.S. My husband and I are not professionals, we designed this ourselves, selected the colors and tiles ourselves, and did all the work ourselves. You can do it, just take your time and think it out, look on the web for ideas and get a lot of texture and color samples. We are glad we did., Bathrooms Design
