  • (BEFORE) Cozy contemporary getaway, We purchased our starter home two months ago, and as a design guru, I had a BLAST designing and decorating the rooms! This is the master bedroom, one of the rooms we painted, along with my daughter's room and office (please check them out as well). I stuck with black, white, and gray for the color scheme and it turned out very well!, Bedrooms Design

  • Master Bathroom with a View, We recently (finally) renovated / remodeled our master bathroom that had been sitting gutted since the day we bought our house - over 3 1/2 years ago. We finally were able to borrow the lump sum needed to do this massive makeover. The issue with the original bathroom - other than the fact that it was super dated (green wallpaper) and yucky, was that the main drain was cracked and water was leaking to the floor below - into the walls and down to the floor. This is a second story bathroom and below it is the kitchen and dining room. Sadly the previous tenant was using the bathroom even with the broken drain pipes which had caused mold in the walls which we had to get professionally cleaned! Anyway, all that's in the past now and we have a fabulous modern (but comfortable) master bathroom that feels like an expensive hotel / spa and it even has a view of the bay and golden gate bridge!

feel free to follow our blog for the rest of our adventures in home makeover here - http://fixerwithaview.wordpress.com - we even have a blog section about how we almost got onto HGTV's curb appeal - shot the reveal and everything before our project was cancelled., Bathrooms Design

  • old world charm, A full renovation. Ceramic design tile in the tub area & below the marble chair rail. Matching marble on the windowsill & soap/shampoo holder in tub. I bought an old antique cabinet, cut the top off & put on granite w/a drop in sink. I used oil rubbed bronze fixtures throughout. I used a textured paint, purchased sconces, & a large mirror to continue w/the old world look., Bathrooms Design

  • REPOSTING My Cheery Yellow Kitchen/dining room, Today i changed a few things in my kitchen. I added the word "revised" to the things i changed. I hope everyone takes a look cause i do value the imput. We repainted the inside of our home last week. This is still a work in progress. I am looking to find a few accent things with red tones to add some color and accesorize. Yellow was my least favorite color but i love it now. I wanted a cheery kitchen. , Kitchens Design

  • Remodel of the basement dump, When we moved into the house 19 years ago the basement was "finished", but awful. It was not a priority until it became so neglected and HORRIBLE that we didn't want to go down there for any reason. We decide to remodel it as much to clean it up as have new space and to do it as cheaply as possible (something I've never been good at)., Basements Design

  • Heavenly remake of bathroom from hell, Never has a makeover been more needed or appreciated. We had the most heinous bathroom ever! It had a 32"X32" stall shower, outdated fixtures and wallpaper, leaks and general ugliness. We took it down to the studs and started over. As a means of keeping my sense of humor about the process I chronicled it in a blog - http://diaryofamadbathroom.blogspot.com/ All in all, it was a great experience and we are very pleased., Bathrooms Design
