  • Red Bird Christmas Tree 2010, Family Room Christmas Tree.....my husband and I decorated together. The red birds are symbolic and remind us of his late Mom and step-dad each time we look at the tree.
Sorry....used an iphone for the photo, which doesn't show the depth of the vivid colors used., Holidays Design

  • Is that too Apple??? Kitchen Table, This is the eating area at the end of my kitchen. While I love my table, I'm just not sure if the color works and if it doesn't, I have no idea what color to paint it. The walls are a light grey/slate blue color that flow through the open living room into my kitchen. The back wall was painted a dark brown to act as an accent and a focal point but that may have backfired more than helped. My floors are a red/brown/black mottled stained concrete. My favorite element is definitely my lighting fixture which I made myself (maybe that's why I like it so much??). I also sell them on Etsy under the shop name RedBirdLane. In this room I ask myself the following:

1) Is the table color cool and unique of just flat out terrible?
2) Does the brown accent wall add to the feel or just look like I'm trying too hard?
3) Much as I love my chandelier, is it too big? I could always make a smaller one...., Kitchens Design

  • Welcome to my holiday open house!, I decorated mainly my "formal" living and dining areas and the basement family room. For the upstairs I chose an organic looking sage and white color scheme. I used dried hydrangeas matte white Christmas balls and branches. For my basement family room my theme was "merry and bright" and I did everything in red and white. , Living Rooms Design

  • Paneling art, One wall had paneling the others are sheet rock. First I painted the wall dark maroon. Then taking different colors and a dry brush I worked quickly creating panels if different colors. I made sure not to go into the groves as I wanted the maroon color to define the lines. The curtain fabric I LOVE and have used it in 3 different homes. The other walls are the pink and orange mixed together, it is my favorite color. The hutch I distressed and painted. I drew on the Asian images and wood burned them in the panels. I filled the wood burn space with gold paint. I gold leafed the handles and bottom bar then painted on the "spots". The chandelier was a consignment shop find. The glass table top was in the scratch and dent section, the chairs were damaged and on clearance, the base I found at a tag sale. The Victorian bench I used to have in my salon. The "dinning room" is a converted sun room, my house is very small, but colorful and cozy!, Dining Rooms Design
