  • Cottage Country, This is my home in the high desert. Stucco exterior is used here most often. But I love the cottage feel so with the edition of shutters and flower boxes and a street lamp and some yard art I think I got it. I only wish I had the money to make the front patio a real porch with railing. Someday maybe., Home Exterior Design

  • Cozy and Comfortable Living Room, Living room opens to the dining room and we added sliding door out to our new deck. Only good part of house when we first bought it was the bluestone fireplace which we haven't changed. Purchased new sofa and loveseat along with the tables. Tables are large but with the open bottom I think they still seem airy. I have since changed out the throw pillows to a solid olive green which pops more against the camel colored furniture., Living Rooms Design

  • The Little Man Cave, When we found out we were expecting our first baby, my mind immediately went to work planning the nursery. After finding out we would be having a boy, I wanted to create a space that was "all boy." Since his daddy enjoys the outdoors, I decided to bring the outdoors in and create "The Little Man Cave" (as named by my husband). Antlers are very masculine, but when they are spray painted white, it creates a "softer" baby appropriate affect. The antlers were provided by my husband's father and the plaques were hand crafted by my father. I love that the whole family was involved with the nursery! I also knew that I wanted a gray and yellow color scheme, and since I couldn't find a bedroom set that I liked, I decided to try my hand at sewing my own. I think the quilt, bed skirt, and sheets turned out cute! :), Nurseries Design

  • Don't-Know-If-Its-a-boy-or-girl Baby Room, We are due with our first baby in two weeks - and we are waiting oh-so-impatiently to find out if its a boy or a girl! Right now, we call the in utero baby "Bjorn" but that's not his/her final name. Just a good gender-neutral name to go with the good gender-neutral colors of green, tan and brown in this baby room!, Nurseries Design

  • Easy and Modern, It's a rental unit, and unfortunately I'm not allowed to paint the walls. So not to feel like a sterile environment I've used a lot of color (red, my favorite). It's taken me a long time to find night stands that I like, Finally found 2 chests of drawers and painted the carcasses white (originally a milk chocolate colored faux walnut) so they wouldn't clash with the teak dresser. I also changed the legs and pulls to match the bed frame by spraying them a hammered steel. The artwork on the chests are my own., Bedrooms Design
