  • Welcome to my livingroom, We bought our Dutch style furniture 31 years ago and good furniture does last. I still love the pretty carved wood that gives the room a warm look. I have collected salt-glaze pottery for years which my husband made a shelf for displaying it. He also made the cute blue shelf for other old items displayed in the room. Our fireplace was made by hand by my talented husband and even though he had never done stonework I love the finished look. The mantle is a rough log we had cut and milled to get a chunky look. , Living Rooms Design

  • Reed's Nursery Rhyme Nursery, This mural includes children's songs, fables, nursery rhymes, and tons of tiny critters and animals to keep a baby entertained. I created this nursery for my first born son Reed. I was 8 months pregnant when I began painting it. This was my favorite project because it was the first time I got to create a project for my own child. , Nurseries Design

  • Lemon meringue pie living room dining room merge, I am a grad student just bought my first place. The living room had awesome old hardwood floors and I though yellow walls would go well with this. I ended up painting my living room and adjoining dining room light yellow. I like the color but now the rooms seem to run together and I kind of feel like I am living inside of a lemon meringue pie. I would like to repaint and better divide the living room from the dining room. Please help!, Living Rooms Design

  • Our Cozy Country Cafe Dining Room, I just added the striped/floral curtains and valances. At first I wasn't sure I liked them (as you can see I still haven't taken down the other curtain hooks above the windows), but now that they have been up a few days they are really growing on me! I find that they make the room much warmer and cozier than the long white lace curtains that were on there before.
I also have an antique Arts and Crafts sideboard that I have refinished, a pie safe and a glass hutch that I keep my great grandmothers dish set in. I moved the old school desk in from my family room. I think it fits quite well in this room.
I love the rocking chair print above the sideboard, as I have a big front porch lined with rockers that we sit out on every night after dinner. To finish the room off I have the phrase above the sideboard: : "Sweet is the Smile of Home"., Dining Rooms Design

  • 1900 Farmhouse kitchen, When we moved in the bottom kitchen cabinets were tarp blue. There were chicken stencils. The ceiling was drop in tiles. Ripped that out & sheetrocked. Added crown chair rail & beadboard. New cabinets painted them barn red & replaced the butcher block countertop. Added antiques. Ran the chickens outside! Yeah I know too many fruit jars! Hubby collects them!, Kitchens Design
