  • Solid Oak Front Entry Door., Nothing about this door is box store thinking. The door, buck and side lights are one integral unit.

We started with the idea of a raised panel door with a Medieval European motif and we could not be happier with the outcome. Nothing is standard size. The door itself measures 2 ¼" thick and is 6'-10" tall. The construction is all solid Red Oak. We used oversize, solid Brass hinges and carried the antique Brass theme to the Gargoyle knockers guarding the entrance left and right. A cross motif was also incorporated into the design using real stained glass panels. Believe it or not all of the component pieces to the door were soaked in boiled linseed oil for a month, then allowed to dry and then assembled and finally finished with several coats of premium polyurethane top coat., Home Exterior Design

  • SCARY door makeover!, My front entry door was showing all the signs of damage from harsh Chicago winters. I was a little nervous about stripping and refinishing. I figured I would give it a shot because if it did not work out - I could always paint it. It was a LOT of work but in the end - I LOVE IT! , Home Exterior Design

  • Entry, Entry was previously tile and very dark. We removed the dark window shades, all the floor, and repainted. New floors are now: large granite and marble mediallion in the center, with 20" porcelain tile that is bordered with 12" granite tiles. Front door was also repainted and we replaced old knob antique nickel lever hardware. , Other Spaces Design

  • Cottage Country, This is my home in the high desert. Stucco exterior is used here most often. But I love the cottage feel so with the edition of shutters and flower boxes and a street lamp and some yard art I think I got it. I only wish I had the money to make the front patio a real porch with railing. Someday maybe., Home Exterior Design

  • Entry door and storm door help, We are having our home built. I am trying to choose the entry door and the storm door. Because we are worried about break-ins, we want a certan security storm door that has security glass, and it only comes with brushed nickel or brass handle/kick plate. I do not care for brass. I want our entry door to have an oil rubbed bronze handle so it will match with the oil rubbed bronze interior doors and fixtures. Will the brushed nickel finishes on the storm door look good with the oil rubbed handle on the entry door?, Home Exterior Design
