  • Painted Kitchen Cabinets, Here are a few photos of my "design on a dime" kitchen makeover. It's a work in progress. I hated my builder-grade, orange oak cabinets from the 1990s, so I painted over them, and added some Ikea handles. I plan to change the backsplash to something more modern soon, and tweak things here and there. It would be nice to have some under-cabinet lighting. This entire "reno" cost a few hundred dollars. It's definitely worth it if you want to give your oak kitchen an easy update., Kitchens Design

  • Painted Kitchen Cabinets, I wanted a new look for my outdated oak cabinets center isle and planning desk. So I add beadboard to both the back of the planning desk wall and the island. Then stained and added sconces. Then painted the cabinets in cream and rubbed stain to complete the french country look. For my next step to the desk I plan on adding the doors with the center cut out and add some chicken wire spray painted in a copper color. Add sconces for the desk. • Tile on the Kitchen Ceiling?!, My husband loves to cook, but we're stuck with a small, 1950's kitchen that has no flow and no storage. It's cramped and outdated, but the worst feature is the pink (yes, pink!) glass tiles that cover the walls and ceiling. We tried using two different paints and a stain on the cabinets to tone down the pink and pull things together, but it didn't work., Kitchens Design

  • Painted - Antiqued Kitchen Cabinets & Granite, Our home which was built in 2004 looked as if it had an 80's kitchen with Formica laminate, white appliances, and oak cabinets. We brought it into the current era with Stainless Jenn-Air Professional appliances, granite slab, and antiqued cabinets. We painted the walls when we first moved in - we realize we will probably need to darken them after the antiquing. Flooring is a laminate that was a builder install; the plan is to replace eventually to a darker real wood product in time., Kitchens Design
