  • Painted fireplace, This is my fireplace after I painted it. The red looked to country for what I wanted in the room. I don't know if I should paint the inside of the fireplace black or leave it. I was experimenting with the candles in there. I don't know if i like them in there.I added the before picture to the right too., Living Rooms Design

  • Family Room with Multiple Focal Points, The family room has a painted-brick fireplace with the television location awkwardly combined. This would normally be a focal point however the room opens to a sunroom with a beautiful view of the backyard and it tends to steal the show. Essentially we have three focal points and confusion about how to decorate effectively., Living Rooms Design

  • Small living room with no wall space. Any ideas?, Our living room is a very awkward space, because each side of the room has either a staircase, french doors, a fireplace, or a huge entryway to the dining room. How can we decorate and arrange it for a more comfy and inviting look? We also have radiators (with covers) under each window, so we cannot put anything on the floor in front of them., Living Rooms Design

  • Fireplace Redo, We've been renovating for approx. 1 year. I tried to let the fireplace and dark stained wainscotting "grow" on me. As you can tell it never did. Decided to paint it. It feels cleaner and more open. We just got finished this weekend. , Living Rooms Design

  • Family room fireplace mantel, We had a builder white fireplace for our 3 year-old home. Since we like the updated "öld world European" (Tuscan/French) look with lots of black and brown forged iron we decided to try something new. I had my husband paint the mantel black and then I sort of äntiqued"it with metallic bronze Ralph Lauren paint. Will post more pics later for a more overall view., Other Spaces Design

  • Lovin' the New Livin' Room!, I have a small living room that is open to my kitchen. Having just remodeled the kitchen, I thought I would tackle the living room as well. Installed walnut-stained white oak hardwood floors throughout, re-painted the walls in a warm cream color, and re-did the fireplace mantle surround. It goes great with my new kitchen (in my portfolio) which was a must as you can see it from there! I am new to this and am not opposed AT ALL to suggestions! The entire project was a lot of fun for me, but so glad it's pretty much over!

  • Fireplace Make over, Very large Fireplace was bright white to match trim when the house was remodeled in 1980. Liked it ok but wanted it to go with the kitchen that we just remodeled so I painted it to match the cherry cabinets. My kitchen and family room are one big area so I want them to work together. I also painted some of the stair trim tv cabinet and cabinet in study the same way just to bring the dark color throughout the spaces., Living Rooms Design
