  • Breakfast Nook - Dining Room Ready for the Christmas Holidays 2011, This is my favorite room to decorate. It's so small and cozy that a few little touches go a long way to define the style and create the mood. It's a simpler look than last year but much more practical. I have no fussy decorations to move when I want to serve a tasty breakfast or have a friend over for tea. Although a rug looks good, it's really not practical in this heavily used room and so it had to go. My theme this year is definitely PRETTY but PRACTICAL., Holidays Design

  • Alice Brady's Dream Kitchen, My 1970s kitchen has loads of character... but not exactly the kind I had in mind. From the candy-coated cork board cabinets with orange stripes to the matching orange formica counter-tops I am in orange over-load land. The darkly colored and oddly shaped tiles don't exactly help! The worst part about it is the functionality of having the refrigerator so far away from the sink and cook top. The kitchen is so big but the layout makes a lot of the space wasted. The one thing that looks kind of nice is the brick overlay around the chimney... however I would be just as happy with it gone too., Kitchens Design

  • Bedroom Makeover For A Boy (11yo), This is the bedroom I transformed for my son. During our home search, he found one with similar colors and naturally wanted us to buy the home based off of the 'cool' room. The best way to surprise him was to make him his own. I hand painted those stripes (VERY bad idea for a first-timer). All items in the room were bought on clearance except the paint and painting supplies. I did not want to go with the typical pastel/pink girl's nursery, but instead wanted something that flowed better with the rest of my house.
