  • Master Bath - Open Spa like Shower/Bathroom, Enter through french doors to the master bath and you see the air flow two person tub straight ahead. On each side of the tub you will see a his and her's vanity made of Alder wood and granite countertops. It's hard to get a picture showing this. The her's side has a heated floor. The shower is open with no doors. There is no draft and the water doesn't splash out. The water closet gives us privacy and there is an arched doorway to the closet., Bathrooms Design

  • Modern, Uncluttered Dr. Seussian Master Bath, This modern DIY master bath was part of a bigger project – reconfiguring a master suite to include a walk-in closet. A few walls were moved and most others were down to the studs. It took 9 months of weekends and lots of help from the in-laws but it was worth it! The style is whimsical and fun. I'd much rather wake up to a page from a Dr. Seuss book than one from a Restoration Hardware catalog ;) But when the need to feel 'grown-up' strikes, the mood lighting in the shower provides the appropriate ambiance.

Picture 1 – The ‘hers’ sink area with tub.
Picture 2 – The ‘his’ sink area.
Picture 3 – Lots of concealed storage; everything within arm’s reach.
Picture 4 – Shower area has shower ‘tower’ with jets and doubles as a steam room – steam generator is in attic.
Picture 5 – Wide-angle view (photo taken with a fisheye lens, hence the curvature).
Picture 6 – The ‘Before’. Notice the yellow-toned cultured marble and dark, dated cabinetry.
Picture 7 – Close-ups of mosaic mirrors – I used Venetian glass tile and smalti on a Wedi board substrate.
Picture 8 – A ‘Barn’ door was the best choice for a door between the bedroom and bathroom., Bathrooms Design

  • Touch of Tuscany , This was a huge remodel! We made the most of a small space by vaulting the ceiling and putting in a sky-light. There is a open shower (hard to photograph). Advised not to use slate in shower but it worked out great. Color of walls is Taupe. We mixed copper with brushed nickel fixtures. My husband designed and did all the work himself., Bathrooms Design

  • Small but Doesn't Feel Like It, We wanted a shower in our spare bathroom but I didn't want it to feel closed in and cramped.I researched and found we had enough depth to have a doorless shower without splash problems. We are very happy with our decision. The only decision I wish I had made different was on the color of the tin ceiling in the shower, guess I could paint it but probably won't bother., Bathrooms Design

  • Major Master Bath Redesign, This was the master bath in my 100 year old home in the Midwest. My boyfriend and I did a complete gut and started from scratch. Unfortunately, I had to relocate for my job just 2 weeks before it was finished so we didn't get to enjoy it much. We did all the works ourselves, with the help of my dad too, and it cost about $3000 total! We were putting the finishing touches on during an all-niter before the relocation appraisers and realtor showed up. , Bathrooms Design
