  • nice bright space, my house is a small ranch built in 2005. the living room/kitchen is an open concept (basically a rectangular shape) and with cathedral ceilings with two skylights for lots of light. it is not a very big space so i had to be careful not to put too much furniture and accessories in it. i know eventually i will have to put some kind of artwork on the walls and/or have some kind of accent wall. any type of suggestions would be great. be kind., Living Rooms Design

  • Open-concept condo in need of defined space, We live in an open-concept condo, and like a contemporary style but it's not working the way it is. We want to define the space more into LR, DR and den areas but have no idea on how to do that. We also want to make it seem warmer since we're in NE and have many windows. The kitchen and bamboo floors are great - it's just rest of the place that needs help!, Living Rooms Design

  • Personalizing our cookie cutter apartment, We got a great apartment, but it didn't reflect our personalities. We used our own art and accessories to jazz up the main living space without painting any walls. She is really into green and pink, and I'm really into green and blue, so we combined the colors of our rooms to accent our neutral furniture. , Living Rooms Design

  • HELP! OPEN MODERN GREAT ROOM, LIVING AREA WITH HIGH CEILINGS, This is our new place and it is begging for some personalization - we need advise. The trim is real oak and the floors are bamboo. I don't plan to change the floors at all. The fireplace is granite as is the foyer. The oak is natural and I was wondering if we should paint it, perhaps put in a different banister and then have the living area painted in taupe with white trim - along with a really nice staircase banister. The top banister is bordering a loft area - what should we put up there? What kind of furniture would you use to furnish this space? Specifics - please. The leather couch, chair, ottoman and table were just purchased but we have another family room downstairs that we could use it in - what type of furniture and how do you break up this space? We need advise! Pictures would be great! , Living Rooms Design

  • Open Living Room, Dining and Kitchen, We have a beautiful view both in the front and the back of the house. To take advantage, we have tons of windows and when you walk in the front door you can see all of the way to the back yard because of the open concept living. And there lies the rub, I've hit my creative roadblock trying to blend each room (living, dining, kitchen and sun porch) together through the use of color and some furniture styles that make the rooms flow together. Please advise., Living Rooms Design
