I have recently updated my daughters/guest room. It reminds of a boutique hotel or bed and breakfast. Most of the items came from Ikea. On the darker wall I plan on putting a really cool stencil in the coming days.

As always decorating my rental apt on a very small budget.....My kitchen lacked "storage" {we can't add/remove extend or do much to my kitchen} so.my hubby and I were debating on whether to add a buffet table or built benches... We opted for benches because if we add more furniture it would look look/feel crowded and cluttered,.by adding the benches it allowed for much needed storage and seating
I'm thinking of replacing the DIY CLOCK with mirror and sconces or large wall art but for now clock stays until I find that "special" something...
P.S.My hubby built the benches, added wainscoting, chair rail, window casing and framed dining area opening with molding

This is our bedroom...in progress. Everything in the pic is new, and I'm adding to it slowly but surely... The bedside vignettes are on tap for now, but I plan on adding some art above the headboard, and maybe a stab at adding color to the bedding since it is mostly grey.

We have been trying to fix up our backyard for the last two years and decided that this year (our 3rd living in this house was the year we were going to make it happen.
We had our vinyl fence installed a month ago and just finished building our patio in the rear of the yard (First time ever building a stone patio!
We assembled our gazebo and just laid down grass seeds across the space to try and grow some grass before the hot summer months.
The pictures show our space as it is now, a work in progress.
We are now in search of ideas, tips, suggestions for what to do with the yard to tie it all together. We want the garden to pop with vibrant life and color but don't know where to start. We have about a 4' by 15' patch of ground behind the gazebo that we think we'd like to use to plant some colorful shrubs, plants and trees and maybe a fountain or water fixture or maybe a fire pit.
We have another smaller paved area (15' x 5' at the front of the yard before the deck which we keep our gas grill on and set up some seating but we'd like to transform this area as well into a more comfortable seating area that can be used to relax and entertain guest.
We then have a nice sized deck area attached to the back of house. This space is about 15' x 16' and we have a double size outdoor sofa and our 6 seat table here. again, looking for ideas to make this all pop and come together with life and warmth and color that inviting and relaxing for nights together or nights shared with family and friends.
