  • Visual Punch for my visually impaired 3 year old, This room was designed for my three year old that has some significant visual challenges. I wanted the walls to be bold so he could really appreciate them. Also wanted to use colors that a three year old boy would love. The stripes are magnetic as a fun way to display art work., Boys' Rooms Design

  • The Little Man Cave, When we found out we were expecting our first baby, my mind immediately went to work planning the nursery. After finding out we would be having a boy, I wanted to create a space that was "all boy." Since his daddy enjoys the outdoors, I decided to bring the outdoors in and create "The Little Man Cave" (as named by my husband). Antlers are very masculine, but when they are spray painted white, it creates a "softer" baby appropriate affect. The antlers were provided by my husband's father and the plaques were hand crafted by my father. I love that the whole family was involved with the nursery! I also knew that I wanted a gray and yellow color scheme, and since I couldn't find a bedroom set that I liked, I decided to try my hand at sewing my own. I think the quilt, bed skirt, and sheets turned out cute! :), Nurseries Design

  • Making the most out of a small bathroom, This bathroom is off our master bedroom. The vision was an Asian look. The "shoji" style of sliding door design was to eliminate a door swinging into the room. The giant 1'x2' tiles are horizontal to resemble painted wood and the ceramic floor tile looks like real wood. All the fixtures are wall mounted to save space. The shower wall is all glass and you feel you are in a larger space when in the bath room. The glass door slides on really cool Wilson Glass rollers. The medicine cabinet is custome built and uses inner wall space - it is deep! Two thirds of the mirror slides to the right. One third of the mirror opens as a door so there is always a mirror available. The Kohler Purist fixtures are brushed nickel. The shower is a Schluter/Kerdi shower kit and was a dream to install. The shower floor is round stone. We had thought to put a teak board platform over it, but it looks too good for that., Bathrooms Design

  • Battle of the Sexes, Ok I like old world style but my husband is a huntin' man. The deer mounts have to be in my living room. How the heck do you make this work? Any tips? I tried the faux leather wall and my aunt made the chandelier. Just not so sure they tie together with the rest of my house., Living Rooms Design

  • In-Progress Master - Need Suggestions!, Update! Matching furniture set antique cedar chest & bedding all stays. Mirror above the bed only mounts on the dresser; it's gone. Looking for curtains--hopefully deep brown--& walls will be painted light blue to match bedding. Building an upholstered headboard (Height advice for 10’ ceilings? Am thinking 60”?) & put the bed on risers. Found almost identical lamps but about 24" tall instead. Biggest question now is what to put on the wall behind the bed—1 large 2 medium or 3 small pieces? , Bedrooms Design

  • My up north in the woods on the lake Kitchen, This home is a B & B and this is my kitchen. I am a bear hunter so I have 2 bear mounts in my kitchen on an upper deck. I am also an artist so I have incorporated mosaics made from my dish collection into the Kitchen to match my dishware thats displayed on open shelves. Bean drawers look better with popourri that match your colors, mine are orange and red. We have red sunset and also black granite. Some of the other features are a double drawer dishwasher, warming drawer, slate look ceramic tile, pot filler, wine cooler, appliance garage, cook center, liquor corner and open room walk thru pantry. I keep dishes and silverwear on 2 opposite sides of the kitchen for convenience. My island has 3 different levels, bake center, counter top, breakfast bar that seats 5 with Mexican equippal bar stools for seating. We made the cabinetry ourselves and have in, under and toe kick lighting. This kitchen is in a round home., Kitchens Design

  • Great Architecture Not So Much Style, This is my parents living room. I absolutely love the ceiling and the architecture in this room and the big windows over look the lake. I would like some ideas on how to bring out more of the architecture, what to do with the windows, and help with the furniture arrangement. The only requirement my dad has for the room is that we keep his deer mounts and his leather chair. Thanks in advance!, Living Rooms Design

  • Rustic/Hunter's Retreat, The living room, dining room, and kitchen are all a combination room essentially. As you can see there are 2 deer mounts. For some, this may not appeal to a broad group of people, but for the area we live in, we think this plays up on northern michigan living and also on the property itself., Living Rooms Design

  • Before: Bedroom with damaged walls & no view, When my son moved out he left three rows of huge holes in the walls that accomodated his shelves that wrapped around the room. I am an art instructor and used what I had to redecorate this room to hide the holes in the walls and viewless window in less than a day and so glad I watch HGTV's Freestyle show!, Bedrooms Design

  • Man cave , This 1600 sq foot basement was unfinished when my husband started it a year ago. Having children in the service and an avid hunter led us to follow a more rustic theme. old beer signs and newspapers added to our wall hangings. living in the south we dont need much heat but did add a small gas stove to knock off the chill and to add a little "warmth. The animals were moved to the area thus creating a MAN CAVE..., Living Rooms Design
